  1. Thanks for that much appreciated.Rick
  2. On another point, I know that if ELAAA can resolve its problems in due course with it's web site there will be most definitely a greater dissemination of information as to its progress and other matters such as certain training programs including maintenance course. I just had my Level 1 taken from me and I'm not happy because RAA had absolutely no right to do that. All existing Level 1 endorsements should have been grandfather. I can say that the ELAAA course is excellent and well received by those who have done it. In fact CASA in writing has endorsed it as a proactive approach to safety because it has a practical component to it which is very relevant to the Level 1 maintainer's type of maintenance carried out on their aircraft.
  3. Phil I will have a chat to Mark and ask him where he was flying there. He is now in the Philippines. He flew a flex wing. Thanks for your reply much appreciated.
  4. Our club CDFG Inc thanks to the members generosity and the now defunct Gladstone Club, who gave us their left over funds when they deregistered, have been able to provide a scholarship to one very lucky girl applicant to commence her flying career so it's not just the big fella's that do these things it's also the little fish because we believe that it is so very important to keep aviation alive for our future generations.
  5. Hey Bill ELAAA ran a survey with a number of flying schools in Australia and the daggers were drawn, to say the least, with some very obnoxious replies coming back to it. The survey was basically addressing safety issues but there appear to be a lot of disinterest which is probably due to the lack of a true safety culture in recreational aviation brought on by it's, at present, governing body. They don't look after members interest in fact they prefer to protect themselves that is put their existence first before the members. I could name 4 names that this has happened to, 3 in the past and one person at this time but I can't due to client privilege disclose who they are without their permission. They, the organizational hierarchy, don't understand the principles of Natural Justice and due process and think themselves a law under their own right. All I can say if the present person who is under the gun with them suffers any financial loss due their unprecedented action in the matter then there will be a suit. Also it may be the case their pre-empting a decision off their own bat before a Coronial Inquest has been held may just be relayed to the Coroner for his consideration.
  6. edited...mod...playthe topic, not insult the person.
  7. One of the issues that has confronted ELAAA by being open and transparent with the RA community in the initial stages of its thrust for certification were the brick walls that were being built as fast as they could tear them down. I understand that a few years ago ELAAA was advised by the then Director of CASA at a meeting in Townsville that the idea of including experimental helicopters under its umbrella was fantastic as it had become a big problem for CASA. Also it was advised that it would not be a problem to have its aircraft markings as VH with a number. Also it was advised that up to 760KG or whatever the weight under Part 149 for the definition of an ultalight registered under the FAA system should be capable of being achieved. All well and good but then that Director is no longer the Director, a short time later. A letter to RAA seeking to enter into MOU between it ELAAA in respect of, inter alia, safety issues and cooperation between the 2 organizations result in ELAAA receiving a reply basically saying we may talk when it has received approval to operate. The list goes on. But if those who believe that a monopoly serves the RA community best read my lips, the system will collapse one day without their being some sort of competition in place. One of the things that ELAAA has been doing in respect of safety was that of conducting maintenance and safety courses which were very well received and attended. CASA even commended ELAAA on its proactive course of action. It was hopped that RAA would accept these courses for the purpose of future Level 1 endorsements but no their program of a theory based test via computer was according to them superior. This was notwithstanding that the ELAAA's course involved practical as well as theory training. Again the list goes on. I find that a number of users on this web sight who protest saying that ELAAA's push for a second body is nothing more than pie in the sky is said only because they aren't privy to the behind the scenes movement are just really more nosey than intetested in the real facts. In that regard I say this that if and when ELAAA'S suite of manuals are approved they will be published for all to view and at that time for those who can actually apply literal interpretation to them and not try to read between the lines they will have all they need to know about ELAAA and can then make an informed choice as to which way they will go.
  8. Now therein lies exactly the problem first, ELAAA is only seeking approval at this time for those aircraft coming within the exemptions under 95.55 nothing more there is no attempt to straddle into GA ATM or experimental helicopters although there is a real need for some organization to regulate the operation of these flying machines. There is so much information being bandied around. It's a bit like when there is an aircraft incident everyone is an expert and can tell you what happened and what caused the incident. CASA is fully aware of what we are after and have been of great assistance with many meetings being given but the problem is what Jim McDowall has allured to previously herein as ELAAA does not have a home to go to because of 95.55 being solely and RAA piece of legislation and Part 149 not operating yet and wether in fact it will ever be brought into operation. In my own personal knowledge ELAAA unbeknown to most who think they know also has on board some highly experienced aviation people advising and assisting with it's push for certification and to date has cost the core group in time and money in the vicinity of $300,000 thus far. This is not as one person said once in these forums a bunch of hangar rats from Bundaberg, or words to that effect. Rome wasn't built in a day nor was RAA but when it started it was a totally different world and environment and a initially a lot of corners were cut due the absolute need for a controlling body in RA. Maybe people need to study the history of RA. I'm not having a go at anyone or beating my own drum I'm just delivering the message so don't shoot the messenger.
  9. Maybe you need English comprehension lessons, did I mention CASA or RAA as such and I'm in no way affiliated with either, either.
  10. Unfortunately your comment does not change the facts, competition is not based on deceit and deception. Any retailer who has a decent product does not need to white ant the competition. There has always been a need for competition because competition breeds excellence but this has nothing to do with competition here. It is just a case of someone is going to lose it's draconian control over the those who needs it services. And by the way it is the other organization that is going for 1500kg not ELAAA, it is as plain as the nose on your face that it is pushing towards GA as it will then be in a position to claim much higher fees if it is afforded that MTO and able to bring RPL like operations under their umbrella. ELAAA as I understand it was all for 95.10 and light sport aviation. Yes initially they sort 760kg MTW and their was a very sensible reason for this but this is not being pushed at the moment. The helicopter issue is a totally different kettle of fish and this area still remains a mystery to the Authority. I read with interest from time to time some of the uneducated and ill-informed comments in these forums and it appears to me that certain people from time to are trying to claim the sharpest knife in the draw status. As I said in previous comment herein Jim McDowall has posted probably the most accurate scenario of what is the true position of ELAAA. Having said that it still appears to be that ELAAA is not giving up and only has become stronger for the hurdles that have been put in front of it. As for keeping interested parties informed this has been a little difficult for some time now as it seems that their web site was under constant attack by hackers so the web site is being reconstructed with hi tech protection put in place. This is a costly process and without any outside financial assistance apart from those involved and those 100 or so interested persons who decided to throw their hat in the ring by purchasing in advance a prescription and attending maintenance courses ELAAA wouldn't have got as far as it has to date and it is not giving up by any stretch of the imagination.
  11. One of the problems, as I understand it, is that there has been numerous problems with the help it has been receiving and a lot of red herrings being thrown it's way due to other organization/s not wanting ELAAA to exist.
  12. It is still in their kicking but Jim McDowall has summed it up correctly, for the moment at least.
  13. Hi Jim McDowall in a nut shell you are spot on. Your observations are on point and precise. You summed it up to a T.
  14. I dont need to earn something again that I already have. Its obvious that you have no respect for the law just like those who make decisions contrary to Natural Justice.
  15. Well I for one am utterly pissed off that it has been removed off my certificate after about 12yrs. Once you have a qalification and unless you stuff up legally in most circumstances it cant be taken from you. I for one am seriously considering filing a writ on RAA in the Supreme Court for a declaration in the matter. In my view what they have done is illegal.
  16. Yes it's been removed now. I have no idea how it got there. One of the site visitor's told me about it long before it became an issue on these forums but I could not at first see it and then when I Googled ELAAA and had to put in that lettering to show that you aren't a robot it showed up. I fixed that but was unaware that it was actually the web details under ELAAA contact details. Either it was just a genuine mistake within the system with Google or some smart arse who knows something about hacking for whatever reason set it up. The actual web page has just about been completed it's construction stage now and hopefully not long before it is available for viewing. Things are moving ahead with all our manuals now with CASA. The nice gentlemen at CASA dealing with the matter have advised me that it may take a little time but not an excessively long time to vet them as they have some pressing safety issues to deal with at this time. They said that despite this they will endeavour to do their best. It has been a long hard road to get we are now and it's going to continue to be challenging but all involved are very committed to the task of making it work. For those who think that our intention is to topple RAA nothing could be further from the truth. We are of the firm view that the very existence of ELAAA will promote improved safety and give the sports aviation community a choice, which it has long needed. It will hopefully also be in the future a one stop shop for a number of other aviation functions or areas that RAA is not involved in. Anyway all that are interested will hopefully have in due course an opportunity to check ELAAA benefits out and make their own choice as to if they wish to come on board or remain with their status quo. Safe flying all.
  17. Oh yes by the way if you had read the small print when you Googled the name you would have seen that it wasn't ELAAA Australia that you were searching but an OS organization. Also if you can still get on to that site your computer may be corrupted as it doesn't exist any longer, maybe Google was getting closer to identifying those who had orchestrated confusion in the first place and they shut it down.
  18. Coljones how would we know who Alban Tafili is? I really don't know what you are getting at by that comment but if you trying to be funny you are not. Otherwise, if you are trying to say that ELAAA is linked to some religious organization or terrorist group you better be careful because that type of innuendo will get you into a lot of trouble these days not unlike you saying as you board an RPT, I have a bomb in my bag. It has nothing to with ELAAA take it up with Google as it doesn't come up when one correctly goes to and have permission to go to the ELAAA FB site. Maybe some of the dissenters are just playing games.
  19. I can smell the Avgas it's that close. Anyone up for a bit of Level 1 training that will be recognized by CASA? Email your interest to [email protected] All good things come to those who are patient and of strong resolve.
  20. Thank you all that have shown an interest and emailed [email protected] You will all receive a reply in due course if you have not as of yet. My fellow directors are all working hard at pulling this all together to the point where we can give everyone the whole picture and not just a piecemeal lead up to it. I myself am a little preoccupied with university studies and exams. This is something I chose to take on when the decision was made to look at another administrative organisation in the aviation industry. In due course we will be along with the Company's proposed operational standards disclosing our CV's on the ELAAA web site, which at this time is still under construction. Thank you all for you interest and comments deemed to be constructive.
  21. And Mr Ramsay I think you have said it all. The pests will be weaned out leaving only those behind to do what really is the only thing they want to do namely fly without having interference constantly run with respect to their activity.
  22. All in good time. Those who have a genuine interest in a choice will in good time be able to view the whole picture and make a well informed decision. Those who only, for whatever reason, just want something or someone to annoy will have no effect on the provision to the flying community of a fresh new entity as their ramblings and waffle will only fall on deaf ears, they are just wasting their time. As for being a Company and employees and directors being in the position to receive a wage or recompense for their investment, I would hazard a guess and say that not too many people are going to work for nothing, it's a job which hopefully done well will bring something of great benefit to those who wish to use the products of the Company.
  23. There won't be any NPRM or industry consultation as it's not required. The only approval required is that of CASA in respect of our manuals. Also Kaz is correct it is a company and there won't be membership only client subscriptions. We are not attempting to reinvent the wheel, our mandate is to give our customers the best service for their money with a very strong emphasis on safety and compliance. For far too long there has been a niche or hole in respect of certain aspects of sports aviation in this country and a lack of strict compliance in it's administration causing to arise therefrom a disgruntled movement of flyers concerned about their future. It is the goal of ELAAA to give those wanting or requiring it, an alternative and that's where we are headed. You will all be able to, or at least those that are interested, have the opportunity in due course, when unveiled see that which we are offering and how you can acquire it. I will say that in respect of our 2 year subscription, at this time, it will be $55 incl GST which some have already taken advantage of and which such funds are held at this time in a solicitors trust account until the company's approval to administer is received from CASA. We are not politicians, we are a Private Company and will not be prior to having all the boxes ticked disclosing anything until all is set in concrete and ready to be proceeded with. It would be totally irresponsible for us at this time to disclose all and sundry as there no doubt will be the need to tweak things possibly once CASA reverts to us. ELAAA CEO
  24. For those that it may be of interest to, ELAAA does exist and is alive and well progressing quite nicely towards it's end goal of obtaining approval from the regulator. For those that are interested and want to register their interest or have specific and reasonable questions answered please email [email protected] Our website at this time is under construction and I will advise in due course when it will be available for perusal. Thank you all.
  25. No i don't Phil i will find out and message you, thanks.
