Another New Tasmanian!!

G'day everyone!

My name is Breece and I've recently been posted down to Tasmania as the new Senior Military Recruiting Officer for the ADF.

I've done about 40 hours flight training on GA Foxbats and c172s in both Townsville and Melbourne.

I'm keen to crack on with my training down here and happy to look at RAAUS as my future pathway rather than PPL/CPL.

Are there any instructors in the south and other brave souls willing to hire out there pride and joy? I'm happy to travel up to train with Eugene in George Town, but I'd also like to see what's in and around Hobart.

I'm very keen to meet other like minded Tasmanians and start flying around this beautiful state!!

All the best,

Breece

Welcome Breece!

I don't know a lot about Tassie but there are some other members on here from there. 1@Marty_d is the main one I can remember, he would be a good place to start to get some local knowledge/contacts.

Enjoy the forum.

Hi Breece,

Welcome to the state! Hope you like it here.

I'm not aware of any RA-AUS training happening down this end of the state, but there could be. I heard a rumour that Eugene comes down regularly but I haven't confirmed that.

There's also a flying school in the midlands, near Tunbridge.

I'm not flying at the moment - got my RPL on C172's back in the 90's, did some hangliding, then life got in the way. Currently scratch building a Zenith CH-701 and figure I'll do the RA-AUS certificate training when I'm almost finished.

Anyway, always happy to have a coffee and a yarn with other pilots, so if you're ever down Sandfly way, PM me and I'll send you my details.

Cheers, Marty

Thanks very much guys.

1@Marty_d I've moved down to Kingston, so we're just up the road. Keen for a brew and a look at your incredible efforts with the 701.

Looking forward to getting up in the air again soon!

Breece

Greetings Breece,

Welcome.

You'll be especially popular if your back yard is about 800mtrs X 30mtrs, flat, and facing the prevailing wind.

Ok. Doesn't have to be in Kingston-by-the-sea.

Anywhere south of Hobart will do us

Might even incentivise some builder to finish his CH701.

But I'm just keen to see the finished product :-)

G'day Adam,

Thanks for getting in touch.

Plenty of questions for you about your experiences so far, how you've found Par Avion and how you've found flying down here in Tassie. Would be keen to catch up for a brew and find out more.

What sort of a/c are you looking to purchase?

All the best,

Breece
