    .....even contemplate filling in an application form to apply for a form for a medical renewal form. You will need to ponder this for a while seeing our NES comrades have let the side down a bit. Firstly the captain lead in " taildragger" was lost, and then my lead in "sceet hoses" died as well. Lift your game people, we need to lift this nonsense to a higher level. Meanwhile the Morry engines are all gone now, the Reno do fine engines are all gone as well, the Ford econobox with the 408 cube engine tore itself to bits and the Pitts V8 was too nose heavy to lift off.....

    For information of all. Some years ago a council in the western district of Victoria decided to charge a person that put in a local private airfield without a permit. The problem the council had was that the poor unfortunate farmer was also a very skilled barrister I an told he is actually a QC and the case went straight to the supreme court, of course the council lost. Now as we all know that supreme court precedent reigns so if your new private airfield is incidental to the primary use of the land the a permit in not required. Any way back to more important things like singing.........

    Side note, Captain and I posted at about the same time so the continuity makes no sense but you can, if desperate to make sense of this story, read the posts in a reverse order. You could of course not bother. Oh what the hell do what you like, of course it all makes sense.

    ........studied up and discovered that the problem was all in the description. Sceet is the intake hose on his engine so the lumps of hard clay that are now in the engine are giving the pistons hell {avref}......

    ......bit of a nutter anyway trying to take off with three on board a single seater, but you can have three on board a two seater in Sydney if the passengers are young........

    .....the broken prop blades were no problem we can use some bark and twigs tied together with duct tape to fix that. The missing mainwheel is not needed in all this mud it will slide along well enough on it's belly. The missing tail is a bit of concern though, may be we could use rabbit jackets taped together and control pitch by moving back and forth seeing the seat is no longer there. Jab drivers are fearless.......

    A wonderful and accurate description of conditions at present, however the airfield elevation is about 1200' which is 400' above town so a flood of biblical size would be required to have great effect. Having said that the rotten little bathplugs seem to be hiding at the moment......

    ......but back to the real aviation related NES. Back in the newly installed tower {avref} at the Darraweit Guim regonal airport {sorry Captain but could not help myself} In spite of this fine airfield being fully equipped with VFR navaids eg. a windsock, the tower controller was getting bored due to lack of traffic. The weather is rain & fog with a ceiling of 40' and vis of nearly half of the 650mtr main runway. Anyway the tower controller has taken to using a rifle to pop bunnies. Of course this is legal at an airport because bunnies are not a protected species......

    .....no luck at all, the affore mentioned engines have all rusted up and been sold off for scrap however there are a number of Ford v8 engines around that may be suitable. How about a 408 cu in 500 hp for the Ford Fiesta or maybee a 347 cu in 430 hp for the Pits??......

    Just a side note that Turbine ATC may not be on the gravy train they think for the Wallan tower. you can now only just make out the end of rwy. 18 and a part of the taxiway at the edge of the houses. That graft and corruption payment plan may not still be all that lucrative.

    Further information, Darraweit Guim once upon a time had five pubs - all gone, bakery gone, general store gone not even a servo. Home to about 300 people several thousand sheep various crops etc. even a school and of course the airfield but this is classic thread drift so on with the NES.....

    ........Ha Ha what a load of proverbial cow droppings, for the unlearned among our ranks Darraweit Guim is an indigenous term meaning "meeting of the waters". The small picturesque settlement of Darraweit Guim is situated at the meeting of five natural waterways in north central Victoria and just happens to be home to Darraweit regional airport {avref but no code 'cause it is mine}. Now back to the frivolity ...........

    .......The reason that old boat is so slow is because it is powered by an engine they stole from an upturned Morris commercial police van that was laying in the carpark of the Nullabor motel, stupid bastards {avref} don't know much about people smuggling. Stolen PC12 many much more quicker and cheap to run when using stolen diesel, this is easy to do drive off from servo & not get caught cause no number plate and Hilux can't keep up with PC12........

    ..........He woke up and realized that it was all a dream, it had to be, after all a Renault Dofine powered stolen Morry police van lifting the front wheels at the lights?????........ although the bit about the brakes rings true so maybe it is possible. He sat there in a drunken haze wondering just how big a supercharger can be? Will it push the pistons into the sump? Will it twist the Morry axles like licorice?.......

    May be found at the back of our new manufacturing facility. " But thats full of supercharged Morry minor sidevalve engines being made ready for aviation use" Please note that the sidevalve engines were chosen not because they were cheap but it was considered better to have the lower compression models to be more suitable for forced induction.

    A meeting had to be called to calm the old fella down. Following a bit of discussion it turns out that the old fella had heard about the plans to restore the warbirds with supercharged Morry minor engines, and knowing that side valve engines are not efficient due to the fact that most of the energy from combustion is expended trying to blow the head off and not push the piston down.....

    I have been reading a few old "crash comics" and one stand out is that fat more aircraft are damaged by over the fence speeds high than low. I fly a Flight Design CT that has an approach speed in the book of about 50kt. depending on weight, with a stall in the high 30's. If you come over the fence at over 60 it will refuse to land and sits in ground effect till you eventually slow down or hit the fence at the far end. what can therefore happen is that the pilot tries to force a landing by using forward stick and destroys the nose gear. I am not saying that this happened in this case but it looks like it to me. Another possibility is that the pilot was used to flying heavier stuff and flared too high ran out of airspeed then fell the rest of the way to the ground - low inertia aircraft do that to you.

    .....no of course you would not put gin on ice because that would dilute the gin. Gin is strictly for adding to beer. You can, if you like add Glycol to ice because it tastes terrible so it dose not matter if you waste that on ice for some petty aviation related reason......

    Captain my understanding is that the only way you can fail this course is to "fail to pay". A further point to my critics is that the 300 hrs. signed off in the log book in one day is that as you get nearer the eeequateer it gets hotter and so time goes faster due to the higher D/A. The other point is that $100 normally does not buy a lot of actual multi engine turbine time, so some is sim time and we all know time goes faster when you are standing still. The need for the rocket endorsement is because a normal JATO will still not get a 747 off the ground in an average ultralight paddock so you need rocket. So now with the clarification complete. does not include formation .......
