  1. did you teach raaus or ga, because i have never practised stalls below 2500 ft . not so far anyway.
  2. yes, i am the only raaus student that was never taught anything.
  3. 2500 is the height we train at normally. with a 500 ft separation from cloud thats 3000ft. would you prefer to do stalls at 500 ft. and i do need to brush up on everything. i haven't flown since september.
  4. i wonder if he keeps the oil on the full mark on the dipstick.
  5. big deal. i just wanted to ask why . i was waiting to go on a training flight at bairnsdale one day and the cloud was quite low. the instructor checked the awis and said if the cloud is below 3000ft we can't train.
  6. 3000 ft agl. probably because we train at 2500 ft
  7. why did i get a caution over the cloudbase height
  8. unregistered flying can't be illegal. otherwise birds would be in trouble😁
  9. your right . i was thinking of my training. raaus are not allowed to train unless the cloud base is above 3000 ft.
  10. i passed a kitfox fuselage on a trailer last friday looked new but it had the dummy radial cowl. near rosedale victoria.
  11. Why are you commenting at the same time saying you know nothing about it and have read very little. Try reading the thread and coroners report then comment.
  12. So casa has their bum covered. I understand what you are saying now. But what becomes of raaus will still be casas decision.
  13. 51. 52. Mark Bland is an experienced pilot and a member of the Mount Beauty Airport Committee. He had planned to fly that morning but noted that the weather forecasts suggested it was unsuitable for recreational flying. The weather radar had shown rain across the state and strong winds at altitude. Mr Bland saw Mr Farrell’s aircraft take off from Mount Beauty – Runway 3232 to the north. He was surprised by this considering the prevailing weather. Although it wasn’t raining at the time of take-off, there was still low cloud on the ridges and hills surrounding the Kiewa Valley and he estimated the cloud base was 2,000 to 3,000 ft “at best”.33' a vfr pilot taking off with a 2000 ft cloud base.
  14. RAAus is an Approved Self-Administering Aviation Organisation (ASAO) formed under Part 149 of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations and ultimately answerable to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). this line is out of the coroners report
  15. casa oversee everything raaus do. i have been told that several times by raaus staff.
  16. Looks neat. I really don't think you would notice any difference though. Every plane I have had just pulls the fuel through the pump when it is off.
  17. Yes. What I said about part 103 is because casa have wanted it for years. Raaus have always been against it. I think there definitely changes coming. Just have to wait and see what form they take.
  18. It said only open to l2s and l4 maintainers so I assumed I don't qualify. But as blue said I can ask.
  19. That's the only photo I had on my phone I think that's when he moved it from his house to his hangar. Only a couple of km. Not saying milk crates are bad though.😁
  20. I didn't trailer it. And that is not how it was trailered there.
  21. Hope I didn't offend U nev. Saying ex teacher. I should have said retired. A teacher is always a teacher. Retired or not.
  22. I would like to do that course to buy it's only open to l2s and l4 I think.
  23. Just surprised to see an ex teacher saying that.
