  1. You have made nearly 27000 posts on this site. If a couple get seen as negative it's nothing. I apologise for upsetting you.
  2. No. I just replied to Danny's comment and I thought he was right. If someone invents something and gets offered good money for it why not profit from their hard work. Same as the farm example which has been happening around here. Maybe I should have said constructive criticism instead of negativity.
  3. I agree, at least he would have made good money out of it. It's like people around jumping up and down about farmers selling to the Chinese. If I was a farmer I wouldn't care who they were if the offer was 2 or 3 times what I would have got for it normally.
  4. Well I don't need a coffin because I want to be cremated and I have had a life insurance policy for years. I have no problem with it. I just need to cover flying although if I stick to thruster 88s rules which I will anyway then I should never need flying cover unless I crashed because of a medical issue but at 57 I would hope I get a few years in before that. These life assurance policy's are new to me. Never heard of them before.
  5. I am waiting on another quote for aircraft cover which includes 30k hull cover and 250k pilot death benefit. I have a feeling it's going to be costly though.
  6. i made a few calls today. 1st to raaus where i was given the name and number of their broker. geoff the broker was very helpful we went through what is covered by our raaus policy which is liability only as we knew anyway. pilots family receives nothing but passenger is covered to 250 k. geoff has recommended agile insurance, they have a death only policy for fixed wing aircraft only which means the gyro will have to go. the agile policy for 250k is 1200 a year. i still have to go through my life insurance policy to see if they actually put the flying exclusion in the original pds.
  7. Yes. I understand but it still makes me angry thinking they can just cut my payment off like that . I did read that if the flying clause was not in the original documents sent to me that they will pay out. A couple of weeks back I spoke to the Allianz rep about my driver's work cover. 10k P/a and it only comes in if they have an accident on site or loading. The trucks are loaded by factory people and they are sitting in the cab when unloading. On the road they are covered by tac insurance. Which means that 10k a year definitely goes to other people's payouts.
  8. last year i was going to switch insurers but no one else would accept me on medical grounds, even my own insurer refused to let me increase my current policy. i was hoping there might be an aviation minded insurer that would look at it. they really are baastards. i have given the motherf@@kers thousands of dollars over the years and they are not interested in helping at all.
  9. i have found myself in a predicament regarding life insurance. i asked my insurer today if i am covered in an ultralight and was told no, not even in the flying school aircraft. they only cover me if i am a paying passenger on a commercial airliner. its very important to me to know my wife is looked after should anything happen to me, my new hobbie might be over before it begins. i can't get insurance off anyone else because as soon as i tick diabetes and blood pressure on the forms i get automatically rejected even though these things are under control and i am healthy. wondering if anyone else has had this problem and found a way around it.
  10. thanks. that makes sense. just looked it up. 600hp rr condor v12
  11. what motor powered it, it looks like 12 exhaust outlets. did an inline 12 ever exist
  12. the bloke that owned chobani dairys. he sold up when he retired and gave his loyal employees a 200k bonus each. don't know if he was the ceo but he did own the company.
  13. People stuck at home were buying lots of electrical goods and furniture off Harvey Norman online.
  14. He also refused to give back the 8 million we gave him to support his workers during covid. Even though he made record profits. Not a nice bloke.
  15. And you don't know if she has fought any battles against him.
  16. its a great start for someone bruce. sorry you have to let it go.
  17. the engines should be fairly well protected by the wings from anything the wheels flick up. i read a comment that the rfds were involved in its design . 11.6 million u.s is a pretty hefty price tag .
  18. turbo i am only posting something interesting not suggesting we build steam powered cars and aircraft. your great uncles accident was not an uncommon occurrence . thats why they had boiler tickets.
  19. The steam powered plane was a ripper
  20. I am sure he had a steam powered xb I remember it on the tv. No mention of it here though.
  21. And don't forget the naptha fully sealed steam engines. Closed circuit heated and pressurised petrol never really took on . Although some buses were trialled in Texas and worked well. There was a lot of concern about safety though.
  22. The Pritchard steam turbine was well known in Melbourne. Late seventies. He had it in an xb falcon. Was on the news a bit and he took it to America and GM tested it over a few days with no breakdowns.
  23. The mercury optimax outboards used sarichs fuel injection. His engine went nowhere but he revolutionised 2 stroke outboard technology.
  24. Would that be what I am thinking of. The one I read about was in Adelaide.
