  4. this swashplate engine may actually get somewhere. supposed to have the 22hp version on the market this year. roller bearings running on a swashplate should be low friction and long wearing if it gets good lubrication.
  5. i know someone with a brs in a tecnam that is years out of date due to the cost of servicing or replacement. he keeps it there in case he needs it one day. 2 questions. 1. will it even work . 2. do rocket fuels become unstable with age like some types of ammunition.
  6. mine was 25 rego. they were only factory built . no kits were produced so no 19 reg as far as i know.

  9. thrusters are certified trainers. the first certified ultralight trainer in the world.
  10. 2 out of the whole crew. most stations are bike and chopper mustering still. i have friends with stations and thats how they do it.

  14. yes , probably could chosen a better example. i think the people with him would pretty silly to think they were safe after all the waivers they signed. i think old stockton was probably a bit smug because of the 10 previous successful dives which weakened the structure a bit more each time until it let go. it was actually his quote about safety which i liked. he was prepared to suffer the consequences of his own actions . basically that is what part 103 is. pilot takes full responsibility for his safety and his aircrafts integrity.
  15. stockton rush . the owner of the submarine titan who died when it imploded the other day was also a pilot and designer/builder of experimental aircraft. he said safety is a relative thing. if you don't want to achieve anything stay in bed and be completely safe. i don't think his company would even be allowed to operate in australia with the nanny state attitude here.

  17. plenty of gyro activity going on. these days most are production machines costing $100k plus. i have stopped pursuing a gyro licence because i can't get insurance .
