  1. Where is the spelling Guru Dazza when you need him ?

  3. It is interesting how other engine and aircraft manufacturers take an interest in Jabiru engines and airframes and provide modifications where as Jabiru take no interest or likening to their products. Rotec have throttle body, water cooled heads, electronic ignition and alternator. Camit with their engine bits, Brumby with conversion mentioned here, SDS fuel injection. UK have lots of aftermarket add on like sun visors and speed fairings, USA use Matco brakes and different instruments etc. it would be good to see a full aftermarket option list, could be a good plane with all the options but experimental. If Jabiru took an interest I sure that their aircraft would become more popular.
  4. Do you mean type ? Has dual frequency monitoring.
  5. Just a question for you radio experts, my Microair radio generally works fine except when I fly past Coffs Harbour and abeam the airport I get radio interference and sound like several commercial radio station broadcasting on Coff tower freq, has happened several times but not with other radios in other aircraft, any ideas ? Seems it picks up more than it should. Has not happened anywhere else.
  6. What are the problems with SAAA, it CASA giving them grief too ?
  7. I agree with you Poteroo, but Dick is misinformed sometimes or not clear as with the national Airspace reform of 2003, ADSB was to be fully up and running by 2008 and still isn't, Dick has done many good things for aviation and is someone the public believe, he is probably the best person to fight for aviation issues without doubt. The airspace reform of 2003 had mixed support and affected others including AOPA and RAA. I think trying to blame the RAAF is the wrong way to go for this accident but the Williamtown area is a problem especially for RAA as the coastal route requires a clearance but usually a CTAF on weekends. There are several places that are a threat to safety involving CTA or military restricted and a few e.g are Williamtown, Coffs Harbour, Evans Head , Nowra etc. so Dick has a valid point but probably the wrong way to raise it. Read Air Marshall G Brown comments, https://au.news.yahoo.com/sunday-night/features/a/24096924/face-off-dick-smith-and-air-marshal-geoff-brown/
  8. Not sure about the LSA definitions above. An LSA is factory approved to ASTM standards if you put a inflight adjustable prop on it as has happened then it is E-LSA and unable to be used for hire or training and rego becomes E24-xxxx .
  9. The years of neglect is being policed by the people who neglected it ! The ex RAA people at CASA were responsible for part (most) of this mess and should be dealt with by CASA not employed as enforcers of the rules ! The CEO of RAA that came from CASA should also be dealt with for not doing what he should have ! The current problem is also very clear and no one should accept this ! Instead of whinging we should all stick together and write to the minister about CASA dirty tricks. I believe the issue has been raised with the minister and if more join in and write to the minister I would be sure the problem will go away.
  10. Interesting video link of simulator flight of MH370. http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid2513628634001?bckey=AQ~~%2cAAACKW9LH8k~%2cA7HfECo5t7DrAeaToOVr5sEdpPjJEcCi&bclid=0&bctid=3401163961001
  11. There are 2 videos the first with a link and is a military low fling Typhoon in UK, the other is the Seafire. Glad you guys enjoy, I did.
  12. [ There is plenty of evidence that a lot of Rego renewals have been unfairly treated and I know of a very unfair treatment of a member prior to the appointment as Tech manager.
  13. I'm afraid you take for granted he will be fair, I have already seen examples of unfairness and making people suffer. Eg registration delays, and more than once. Not right or fair. He has made assumptions that people don't comply and made them prove they do. This tech manager is more about Casa and not about RAA. Seems he is doing this so he can get a job a CASA. I'm fly RAA so I can maintain my own aircraft, I have owned GA and will not deal with LAME's again. They think you are their prisoner and rip you off, after every annual I had found faulty workmanship. They would invent new problems. Bunch of opportunist. I am a Motor Mechanic or for a better word an Automotive Engineer, and a L2 , The Tech manager said to me that 4 annual inspections in two years or no level two. Only exemptions is for LAME's, I personally have dealt with 2 good LAME the rest were rough and pathetic as well as expensive and opportunistic, ready to rip someone off. I have NO FAITH in LAME's and a lot of faith in motor mechanics, home builders and restorers. If the RAA allow this Tech manager to implement his pro LAME attitude I will be angry ( ANGRIER ) RAA is not about protecting CASA endorsed people but endorsing its own.
  14. I was told the same as aj_richo last week.

  16. Some basic differences are the doors, handles, inner panel, hinges and top pin. Control stick C model has single stick and D has Y stick, the console is different too, the D gives more elbow room. I have had both and they are very similar but the D is more comfortable with the different console. I think the C is a little lighter.
  17. Isn't it a requirement of RAA membership not to bring It into disrepute, three former RAA employees aren't exactly making things easy, or are they ? Seems they know where the mistakes are !
  18. You obviously have no knowledge of the lycoming O 320 H2AD. Fitted to N model Cessnas.
