  1. Thanks for that flyerme. I may give that method a go. I've been watching your thread regarding the Supercat. Pretty soon, through a process of elimination you will have it purring like a kit..., er cat... errr Supercat. Yeah, that's it, a Supercat purring. Pud
  2. This is old but damn funny I reckon. Takes me back to when I used to watch The Dean Martin Show all the time. Gay thought he was the pits, but I thought his show was hilarious. Pud
  3. A few small vibrations David, but not enough to worry about I reckon. An amazing video you have there, and the shadow footage is awesome. Well done! Pud
  4. Fanbl00dytastic David:clap: Now I can't wait for thos crisp, cold, still winter mornings when the fog fills the valleys/depressions, and the sun starts to burn the fog off. Spectacular flying with plenty of photo opportunities. Thanks David, Pud
  5. I suspect I am using close to 15lph Frank but I don't have conclusive proof of that yet. I need a few more hours to arrive at a more accurate figure. If that is the case then I won't bother with fiddling with the jets. I can live with a slightly higher consumption. I want to check that the carbies are adjusted correctly first before looking at the propeller configuration. This prop and hub came off Steve Vette's T500 582 where I can say with certainty it was running at 6800rpms maximum. It is a Brolga 68" 3 blade running through a 'B' reduction box at 2.62:1. I must confess I do not know the pitch as the pitch blocks do not have it marked in a place you can see, without dismantling the prop I'm not sure. Thanks for the link, looks like it could be useful. Pud
  6. 1330 feet according to my Recreational Flying 5" GPS Pud
  7. Yes Maj, I'm very happy with the 582 although I can only get about 6200 revs max out of it. I suspect the carbies may need tweeking a bit. It also idles a bit slow - 2000rpms, so some adjustment is necessary. I'll look at it when I do the 25 hour check on it next weekend. Pud
  8. With one up, the T500 is happy cruising at around 55knts IAS, or a bit less at 5400 RPMs. I haven't completely worked out the fuel burn yet, but it is less than 20lph which is what I use for planning purposes. As I 'firm up' the full burn numbers I'll probably cut that back a bit. Pud
  9. You are a Goon Gurnsey, but I'm gonna check out the Ikea catologue anyway:book: Pud
  10. Yes, the undulating footage is an annoyance but I couldn't expect anything else because I just used some insulation tape to attach a cheap Flip Mino camera to the jury strut. I'll try something different next time - soft foam or some such. I will be interested to see the footage of your aircraft shadow in the circular rainbow, if it turns out for you. Pud
  11. Oorrr Maj, the nightmares were just starting to subside since you last posted that photo. Now I'm back to square one!! I think it's the hammer toe that sets me off:bash: Pud
  12. Yeah, I like that as well sfGnome. I used strip 06 for that landing, most of the other landings were on 10 so gave a different perspective. I liked the tree shadows as well towards the end. Pud
  13. I've just posted a video on Youtube of my flight in Gaygirl, subject of my previous post above number 360. I used some insulation tape to strap the video camera to one of the wing struts and angled the camera back towards the front of the aircraft. In itself it is not a very interesting video – it’s over 1 hour long, but I was able to use just under 10 minutes of footage with what I consider to be interesting shadows of the aircraft and some trees in the late afternoon sunshine. It was an absolutely magnificent afternoon for flying ultralights, with very smooth air and no wind. Absolute magic!! See what you think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_JO5Eth7zw= Pud
  14. Is it connected through an intercom kermit? I find in my T500 there is a lot of interference when connected through the intercom. When I'm on my own I connect it direct and have no problem. Silly me, a T85 is a single seat so no intercom eh? Duh. Pud
  15. Goodonya sseeker, great little project there for you to sink into. Good luck with it, and I look forward to reading, and seeing your progress. Cheers, Pud
  16. We are definitely on the same page SAJ. I look forward to your future posts. Pud
  17. G'day and Welcome SAJ, What part of Australia do you live in? I'm from Leeming, a suburb of Perth WA. Sounds like you would have some flying stories to tell when you feel like it:wink: I fly a T500 but did my initial training back in the late 90's in a Drifter. Cheers, Pud
  18. I'm gonna tell her you said that:amazon: Pud
  19. Gareth, A 'PM' (personal or private message) is now called a 'Conversation'. You can start one with whoever you like by placing the cursor over 'Inbox' right side of menu bar at the top of the page. A drop down box will appear, just click on 'Start a new conversation' and you'll be cookin' Pud
  20. Very well explained Mark, a great descriptive video. The work looks very well done, and a professional standard. Well done mate. Pud
  21. OK. To get the Google Earth image you want, have it on the screen in Google Earth, ctrl+alt+S should bring up a box asking you to say where you want the image saved as a jpg file. Then just load it to here as per normal. What I do is make sure the image, photo or whatever you want to upload to the forum is small enough, then at the bottom of where you type your post, click on "Upload a File". The rest should be fairly self explanatory. Pud
  22. I gotta remember how I did it now... Give me some time. Pud
  23. I was hoping this thread would take on a "Here's my home strip" from all the members here. So I'll see if some photos might prompt a few posters to contribute. It doesn't matter if your home strip is a dirt dunghole from outback or a nice black top complete with centre line, threshold and strip direction markers. Let's see it! Here's a couple of photos of my home strip to start. The small "cross" beneath the main strips was for flying model airplanes before the main strips were put in. Our friend Dick says the small strips are visible from 35,000 feet. View to the NE on approach to the airfield Pud
