  1. Have tried a couple of screen covers, even a dark plex hood, but..........still get times when easily viewing the iPad is bad. High light entering the cabin, high white bounce above cloud again causing grief. So any product out there that reduces/ eliminates, screen loss would help, thanks. ( tried attaching dark window tint stuff on the screen.....didn't help ....... Window shade thingoes still no good, the light intensity enters from all window openings, culminating in a high light intensity cabin. )..... My iPad is RAM mounted LHS of instrument panel, alongside throttle. Thanks Russ
  2. Came across this lil bewdy.......enjoy Jack Schitt I am the only son of Awe Schitt and O. Schitt. Awe Schitt, the fertilizer magnate, married O. Schitt, the owner of Needeep N. Schitt, Inc. In turn, Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt, and the deeply religious couple produced 6 children: Holie Schitt, Fulla Schitt, Giva Schitt, Bull Schitt, and the twins: Deap Schitt and Dip Schitt. Against her parents' objections, Deap Schitt married Dumb Schitt, a high school dropout. After being married 15 years, Jack and Noe Schitt divorced. Noe Schitt later married Ted Sherlock and, because her children were living with them, she wanted to keep her previous name. She was then known as Noe Schitt-Sherlock. Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt and they produced a son of nervous disposition, Chicken Schitt. Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt were inseparable throughout childhood and subsequently married the Happens brothers in a dual ceremony. The wedding announcement in the newspaper announced the Schitt- Happens wedding. The Schitt-Happens children were Dawg, Byrd, and Hoarse. Bull Schitt, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world. He recently returned from Italy with his bride, Pisa Schitt and their new born son Tuff. So, now when someone says, "You don't know Jack Schitt," you can correct them!
  3. Spoze you could mention to them, the position must not interfere with your social life. 2ndly.......could they give you 3 weeks notice when another sicky is due to you. ( helps your life plans ) Last request ( we won,t over do it ) ......flexable start and finish times please. Maaate.........jobs yours.
  4. Maaaate, if this is the " easy " method......the alternative must be just for rocket scientists. Is there a system for dumb *rses .....ie...me.
  5. Cruise prop ?? If it did get 3000 before.....then forget above suggestion....( prop.) Check carby to see when you apply full power on the throttle, you are actually getting full power at the carby. ( May need to adjust cable / stops etc ) Mine......shade over 3000 always.
  6. Every 2nd yr a good ol Nats, the in between yr a state get together.
  7. Gyro Nats just completed at wondai Qld, great turn up, casa chaps there for 3 days, mixing in with the lads, offering good advice to all queries, Rob and Zane were well received, even handed out some casa caps to pilots, I scored one. "Checks" were conducted randomly, no " moments" at all.......why some angst as some folks here post, bewilders me. I saw Rob doing laps in a gyro, Zane preferred terra firma. ( work in progress )
  8. Thanks Dave.....mind pointing me there.....( save me trolling about )
  9. Rotating the pistons 180* ( reverse the offset ) according to an engineer, makes good sense to jab engines. ( gave me the reasons why......long story )
  10. Sorry guys......anytime I fuelled up ( avgas ) the local chaps always commented that it was rare that jabs ran avgas, always pulp.....95......98 Comments appreciated.
  11. Ok.....recently returned NQ....kingaroy......NQ, my jab 160 performed just great..... I noticed infrequently, that my oil pressure guage would fluctuate / flicker, from high in the green, to just in the green markers. Then the odd time it would stay right down just in the green, then after 10......15 mins it would return to it,s normal position up towards the top area of the green. So......what,s the go here. ( oil levels were checked on route, never below the bottom ref marker on the dipstick )
  12. Dingo.....just east of Blackwater, ( Central Qld) ....roadhouse, great accom, food, fuel, good strip, approach from western end, taxi right up to roadhouse, huge parking area amongst road trains.
  13. Couple of pics of great stopovers central Qld, for those that get about. I have returned from gyro Nats ( wondai Q ) stopped each way. 1st 2, are Mt coolon pub and strip, about 100m strip to pub, friendly, comfy, good strip......no fuel tho
  14. Thanks....I,m overnighting here at Dingo, then to Wondai ( near kingaroy ) So far this trip, the radio has performed perfectly......got me stuffed. Query....Fitting those ferrit things.....is there any negative response overall in the hole jab electrics / comms etc etc. .......every action has a reaction.... Info.....any guys chasing avgas at charters towers...........got none. Due in a couple of days.
  15. An engineering point I ponder why??? My jab and others jabs I have seen under the cowl of.......is the routing of the cabin heat hose.....it deflects HOT air from the exhaust pipe flange then that hose routes up to the top area of the firewall to a mechanical flap arrangement. To utilise the available hot air on a cold day you pull the push/pull cable and it closes a flap, thus opening the available hot air into the cab.....great, but when cab heat is no longer needed , which is 99% of the time! that entry flap into the cab rotates and closes cab entry! but goes back to funnelling all that hot air back into the engine bay. Heat, we do our best to minimise/ control, so why pump heat back into the engine bay?? Just wundering....
  16. All this is one good read, the lot....
  17. Absolutely love me 160, I failed to fully investigate the implications of the "C" bit. Seeking a "certified aircraft " was the strong influence in the decision making I must admit, as this was a demand to get it approved to operate Philippines. ( factory built/certified, was the requirement ) 2 yrs of frustrating tooing and froing to get my gyro approved to operate there, just got too hard, I just kept banging my head on a rock wall, so jabiru it was. The inflexable rules for the most minor changes to a "C" are annoying. ( 2nd elec flap switch for example , and auto pilot as fitted to a "D". ) Enough misery talk...... Moving on....
  18. Update......this afternoon spoke with Bundy, again, personable lady Lee, ( bosses daughter), the tone etc re my grype, is now positive, just maybe....maybe, we can get auto pilot installed all legit. I pressed for composite prop as well, let,s see. So......things look a little brighter now, but it,s not definite. You put a 160C alongside a 160D, I defy anyone to pick the difference, so why the shyte.
  19. It,s a pity "known problems" are not warranty protected even when your wty time has expired, or even at min, a 50.....50 cost share, maybe. Being left out in the cold is a hard pill to swallow, yr or 2 back our LG fridge/freezer was not happy, out of wty as well, a courtious call to customer relations, and they picked up the bill to my surprise........love LG products.
  20. After prolonged tooing and froing, we decided to buy a jab160.....sourced a beauty, it was a 160C, but now down the track some 7 mths and loving the actual machine, I,m now getting a tad peed off. Any change/add on....whatever, no matter how minor......you hit a brick wall, sorry Russ, you can not do it. Example.....the current elec flap switch is located in an awkward place.....in my view, I wanted to install a 2nd switch top LH area of the dash.....just to the right of the throttle rod, plenty of room there, that would allow my right hand to stay holding the joy stick ( love the term joy ) whilst left hand easily manipulated throttle and the flap switch.........once again Bundy says sorry mate you can,t do. Just this week I decided to fit a auto pilot, rang Bundy, no probs Russ, we fit them easy as.....bewdy I will drop in get it done......then get a oooops, sorry mate can,t do, your machine is type certified. To do it you will have to get a 35 type certifier to sign it off.......and that,s going to cost you heaps. So my love affair is bit by bit getting chilly.......Grrrrrrrrr
  21. Just maybe.....it,s fretting along the top joint areas, oil seepage is apparent there. ( another flyer had just that ) on his 914.
  22. Update......Floods have record of serial numbers of problem engines, the "fix" is replace the blocks, no help by Rotax I,m told, .......bit harsh.
  23. $12k for new cases.....yikes. Known problem of a certain production batch.
  24. Yes it,s a good info package, 1st one I tried was my own home strip, but a glaring error was shown.......prior permission required for ultralites......that is incorrect .
