  1. Insurance $60k plus cover ( 160C ) ....$1800, I'm cool with that.
  2. Hintz was behind the "Sub4" engines......they were a failure. Then he got into redrives........issues there Then he got into component design/construction.......issues there Many folks found that when their purchase had problems, engaging with Hintz was not a good outcome......for them. ( he usually blamed the buyer, or the buyers engineer, even a brand new purchase, never used, that had a defect was a sh!t fight to get help, more often than not, the buyer just outsourced the component, and copped the costs ) Re packaging, return freight costs, transit delays, etc etc, red tape ( customs ) all these make the problem even greater. One can find ones self grounded for a long long time. Some yrs back a oz chap was the go to man for problems etc, he eventually stopped.?? But.......there are folks, that have had good experiences with Hintz.......go figure. I for one, have had good and bad dealings with this chaps products, it's a it of a lottery .
  3. One chap I know, runs pulp 95, with topend lube in his 2200 jab, to date he has around 1000hrs on the bottom end, 700hrs on top end.....still going strong. Mixes as per directions. Forgot what brand product he uses tho.....will chase info up. Wasn't flashlube, moreys, but a cheaper one......common tho.
  4. Ok, lots of guys are dosing their unleaded and 100LL with either of the above products. Both camps seem happy with results in their 4 banger engines. I would be interested in hearing more feedback....both good and bad.
  5. Do 6 plus hrs easy in my 160, lambs wool seat covers, trim setup properly, tea coffee, snacks.....and a pee bottle.....all's good
  6. Was about to switch the pewter off......read your reply, J160C, factory instruments. Temp is cruise temp, at 2800 revs, goes slightly higher at full power, recently fitted latest jab needle kit. ( richer, not much ) burns 15LPH. But........added a bigger lower cowl lip, seems to be the answer.??
  7. Query.......220F ( 104 C ) , is that a good CHT at LHR head. At cruise. ( 2200 engine)
  8. I know of a couple similar, fix was a washer under one engine mount to alter thrust line just a poofteenth.
  9. Drive/fly to Raa office, take front door off its hinges as you enter, smash fists on counter, scream your lungs out that you are not leaving until it's in your hands. Make sure you have channel 7 filming the whole thing, the publicity Raa will get for free will be a godsend for them. ( seriously tho......dismiss the complete office staff, they have been in place right through this debacle, all these yrs. how about just contracting the daily procedural stuff out, can see immediate gains, both financially, and productivity. Plenty of companies out there taking up these avenues.) outsourcing is not a dirty word, it's a great tool for some.
  10. Got a PM from fellow flyer, he's fixed the problem.... Removable seat cushion, then lift off section of seat base, bingo......potty beneath, with drain tube, says it works a treat....for her
  11. Live......here Live.......wire Payed....paid
  12. Daz.....agree for sure. It's the " fix" for her I'm chasing. .......friend mentioned incontinent nappy, as used by some aged folks, apparently widely used in aged homes. Will check this out.
  13. Easy as for me.....just pass " the bottle ".......voice on intercom....darl, I need to pee, reply....only 1 hr to go, hold tight.....intercom again....I reeeelly need to pee...now ( bottles no good for her ) so, now serious looking for a put down place....ASAP. Ok......bet one or 2 here have had this occurrence, so......who's come up with "the fix" ....for her.
  14. Penrite mineral, or synthetic blended, 2 options maybe. ( 2 stroke )
  15. Roughly 4000........ Whatever you think, ( my guess.....it's a lot less ) but this ongoing ......ongoing run around after updated info was submitted last yr, still perpetuates. Go figure. Not for one minute, do I believe it is isolated to just a mere handful of owners. Voicing that inference is rediculous. How many factually............who knows.......I'll bet, it's a lot. ( and quietly p!ssed off ) How about when payment is received Raa, an immediate interim renewal is sent off to owner, pending processing, and gives validation for 60 days......( being hung out to dry, and waiting in limbo for the current system to ??? Is a tad annoying..... I'm being polite )
  16. I got the run around last yr, weeks over expired, surely this yr my rego will be straight forward. If......it again goes pearshaped, then we need to replace the resident paper shufflers, they have been in place right through this ongoing rubbish. ( bring on self managed digital data management, then any errors are of my own making..... Spoke of this previously.)
  17. Little black critters, 4 legs, mouth full of incisors, and attitude.......don't pick on a tazweegan. ( goes for the 2 legged critter as well )
  18. Ok.....if Raa shoot me a PM, I shall direct them to person/s that put together the type of data base we are discussing here, I'm reliably told SAAA are meeting ASRA folks to possibly get onboard with this system as well, meeting in a few weeks I'm told. If......Raa get into this above meeting jointly, bouncing thoughts/ideas etc etc, could only be a good thing. This member access data base system really does work, it's proven, it cost a penny or 2, offsetting the building costs x 2 more participants can only be a good thing for everyone. However that call is not mine. If Raa wish to go it alone, and reinvent the wheel.....so be it.
  19. "Paper trails" are yesterday's methods, massively expensive to manage, in every way. Digital/electronic....wins hands down. Source specialist tech company, list your wants, your concerns, I know for a fact a good outcome will be achieved here. Raa's outgoings ( $$ ) will seriously reduce once system is in place. Ongoing vigilance to system housekeeping is easily addressed. Absolutely no concern, no negative possibility , no what if's, no whatever's, can not be addressed within a digital/ electronic system. Arguing against digital, is an unwinable argument.
  20. Raa just needs to build the format, ( template ) of required info ( possibly exact same data fields as now ) then each member logs into their account, via there own PIN number,of their choosing, then member enters required answers as needed into each field. Probably exact same info as currently submitted by hard copy , then processed individually by Raa staff. Huge amount of staff time involved. Members themselves loading this account with data, and keeping up to date, relieves Raa immensely. Requests from Raa, to that member, are also there, and the member actions as necessary. Other avenues one could incorporate here are limitless, even the monthly magazine could easily be there, to "you" , that alone would save mega $$$ not having to print, mail etc etc. ( I would expect a saving there of $120k per yr, at least ) Not embracing ever increasing technologies is bordering on criminal, long gone is the old methods. This also opens up staff to work from their home office, do away with massive costs, owning, renting, whatever, of office space/ buildings, etc. Yes, I could go on and on, but enough for now. ( concluding........ponder how to achieve this, don't seek hurdles.)
  21. Tuff.....get onboard, or get left behind. It's 2014 now, 1956 was prehistoric times.
