I use my egt as a guilde if too lean ya temp will be high if rich will be cool I run both my engines around 1000 /1150 F

Been speaking with both wal and Gary at bert floodA 582 weighs only . 4 of a kg less including radiator and fluid!

I have enough room under cowl to fit 9 cyl rotary so the 582 and radiator ect fits and weighs less

 

HOWEVER..

 

They say you can't prop start a 582.

 

And would be concerned in the bump up of 15 extra ponies!

 

Wal's advice is to send him the 503 for complete overhaul .

Think the b box will bolt strait on

Thanks Doug, Pls confirm the GA55 has a shorter wing than the GR series along with a single strut and only a 450Kg MTOW. I did not know that there were any GA55 with 912 engine?? This would mean a payload of around 150kg or less.Cheers

Well I have owned 2 gr 582 think they are great have flown mine from top of qld down south as far as lismore the second plane has auto lube system Witch I swear by ,make flying much easer then worrying about mixing oil mine climbs @ around 1000 ft and cruise @ 70kn with a fuel burn @ 18 lph

But I have a friend who has a ga 55 with a 100 hp rotax it flys great cruise @ 85 and burns about the same as my two stroke

Enother friend major Millard has a gr 912 he gose everywhere in his so I shore he tell ya about his when he reads this tread

But for my point of view I love the little two strokes But I think it come down to what u wish to do with ya craft mine dose a lot of local flights in and out off short strips and then may be once or twice a year I do a long distance trip witch is a little slower then the four bangers but still as much a adventure to do with both ..

Have tried a couple of screen covers, even a dark plex hood, but..........still get times when easily viewing the iPad is bad. High light entering the cabin, high white bounce above cloud again causing grief.So any product out there that reduces/ eliminates, screen loss would help, thanks.

( tried attaching dark window tint stuff on the screen.....didn't help ....... Window shade thingoes still no good, the light intensity enters from all window openings, culminating in a high light intensity cabin. )..... My iPad is RAM mounted LHS of instrument panel, alongside throttle.

Yes I use a small dome tent but have to get myself a mattress of sorts looking at those egg shell foam things !

And a small sleeping bag blow up pillow a head lamp or led light & change of cloths that about it but when with wifey that enother story but we still manage to get it all in under weight limits "just "

Just a tip ,with ya tent don't set up ya tent so the dew runs off the wing onto the top of ya tent make shore your not under the drip line .
