  1. The Audit office [ANAO] has seriously panned Air Services for waste of money as originally highlighted by the Senate Aviation Committee. ANAO report into #onesky procurement project.
  2. The fallout continues with Skidmore gone. The move now must be to immediate introduction of the US-FAR's and removal of the junk-regs of Australia. Remember these don't work and have cost over $300m
  3. Well, we need some serious responses by the pollies, as they must respond to what is a resounding fail by #casa and its #colmarbrunton survey. I participated in this and #colmarbrunton were not getting the answers that #casa briefed them they would get. #colmarbrunton survey
  4. I looked at two reviews of the #casa performance today, which as we all know will be less than "glowing": Performance of the #casa DAS - August 2016 Performance tested against #casa 10-commandments - September 2015
  5. Appreciate your support and the following article reminds us of what has happened to GA in Australia: Loss of a once vibrant industry
  6. Yes this is still active and to add more fire to the stack, #casa are saying they have got everything correct: data-manipulation-by-casa
  7. Thanks for the support. Would appreciate if this thread could be pinned mods, as it is one of the most important things we could participate in to support the push to keep GA going, given it's Australia wide importance.
  8. Following the around 400 people who went to Tamworth on 6th May 2016 and delivered a clear message to DPM Barnaby Joyce and Minister Chester. At the meeting, the message was clear that there must be proper change to regulations that are clear, not prescriptive. [/url] May 6th 2016 Tamworth meeting summary Sandy Reith has launched a petition on: The Parliament of Australia : Save Australia's General Aviation from bureaucratic disaster. Full details: [/url]Sign the petition and support GA and #ozaviation
  9. The last to this should be on Skidmore comments to the Heffernan presided Aviation Committee: http://vocasupport.com/d-day-arrives-for-ozaviation-at-tamworth/ Skidmore in fact "skids" away from the Rally at Tamworth. It would seem the industry is beneath his contempt.
  10. Summary here of events leading up-to and there will be further reports as time goes on: http://vocasupport.com/a-turning-point-iozaviation-occurs-today-mark-the-12th-april-2016-in-your-diaries/
  11. Yes there are serious moves afoot, with Marc de Stoop taking positive action [He said to me on Sunday am: "....looks like we won't be on the casa Xmas card list anymore....!!"] This is parallel to the Dick Smith letter to #casa nad I am sure he will go to the Federal Court. D-day is 14th April 2016. MTF: Proper reform of #casa - Dick Smith action [/url] and the letter to #casa
  12. Last information about the application by casa for warrantless metadata acquisition in today's Australian says that casa has been refused.Bet there will be another attempt.
  13. You have the current Jack Pantovic situation already. More information on CAR 234 changes.
  14. While we are at it, have a look at the new proposal by #casa for CAR 234. (3) The pilot in command of an aircraft for a flight commits an offence of strict liability if: (a) the pilot is subject to a requirement under the instrument made for the purposes of subregulation (1) in relation to the flight; and (b) the pilot does not comply with the requirement in relation to the flight. Penalty: 50 penalty units. (4) The operator of an aircraft commits an offence of strict liability if: (a) the operator is subject to a requirement under the instrument made for the purposes of subregulation (1) in relation to a flight of the aircraft; and (b) the operator does not comply with the requirement in relation to the flight. Penalty: 50 penalty units. Now this is serious, a fine of over $100/ penalty unit
  15. The following reply has been received by an aviation member after an inquiry to Business Minister Briggs: http://vocasupport.com/ministers-fail-to-answer-questions/ This was in answer to a detailed question that related to how an aviation business could be run effectively. The Hon. Jamie Brigg, ADELAIDE Dear Minister, I have serious doubts as to where your regulator, casa is going and the negative impact on aviation in Australia. I know, in conversations with the casa Board Chair, Mr. Jeff Boyd that he is being stymied in the Board’s direction to remedy and develop aviation. The placement of the latest person on the Board has just been announced and I draw your attention to the following issues: Question is: How does she stand on the #asrr review? Is she aware of #casa’s breach of Model Litigant provisions? and: The clear problems within #casa that have been exposed in dealings such as: Quadrio [Details here]; Rudd [FOI Requests]; Reppacholi; Barrier Aviation; Actions of #casa legal – [inaction in Courts]; #PelAir – [Four Corners Investigation]; #atsb/ #casa MOU; #icao non-compliances [upwards of 2700 individual] covered by a “…excepection…”; FAA Auduit; Polar Aviation; CAR 232; Part 61 – [Typical response to a part 61 problem]; 48.1; 100.5; and on and on I would appreciate your early response and support to ensure that the Forsyth ASRR reccomendations are implemented without change and reduce the regulatory costs to aviation. Sincerely

  17. Hi John, nice to meet you at the weekend. You OK for me to bring your posts on medical together?? neil H would like to talk to you about AVMED matters. can I forward you my phone number to have a chat?? Rob - with the Jack Russell
  18. Jack Pantovic got his day in court, with the AAT findings published on 18th December 2015. A casual conversation finds Jack [Jason Pantovic in the AAT] an R22 helicopter mustering pilot based just north of Mareeba, a bloke that works long hours and in a dangerous occupation. The AAT finding mocks #casa in how it carried out it’s investigation and one can see many parallels with the earlier John Quadrio case and a R44 Robinson helicopter. To sum up and there will be more than one item missed in the summary: There are unfounded accusations; At least one witness was coerced by a #casa investigator; Witnesses were allowed, by the Canberra based investigator [Mr Leif Nystrom] to “conspire”; Many individuals tried to step away from taking any responsibility; [/url] Report on the matter in Brisbane press
  19. I have tracked #casa's annual report for a several years [table collated below], particularly since when flying you notice less and less radio calls or [except for Virgin, QANTAS and Jetstar], less aircraft in the air. In the published data, #casa show a major discrepancy in the numbers. Here we see, looking at 2011, a missing 5,065 pilots. These are across the years and there is no #casa explanation. What is worse, the "pilot numbers" do not gel at all with the medical certificates. Just looking at 2011, the medical certificates [not corrected, by best guess for doubled up ones] is 22001, so we have a full missing 17, 371 pilots!!! Must just be a discrepant table???
  20. This is a significant reform and improves the medical process, reducing compliance costs and giving a better “Right-to-Fly” to: American Pilots!! This is reform #casa and this is the type of way forward, where the aviation community would work with the regulator rather than the current #avmed fiasco.
  21. More stuff on the Thruster engine stoppage and ditching towards Flinder's Island and action of #casa. Report from Tasmanian Court System
  22. The web site, righttoknow.org.au is the place and takes requests for "public inquiries". FOI requests are on this link. The metadata FOI is on the Attorney General's Department: https://www.righttoknow.org.au/request/requests_for_access_to_telecommu#incoming-4356
  23. Great to see every one all over this story. Some of the background story is here, where a FOI application was made to flesh out the story. There has been some discussion here about 'crashed aircraft' and #casa involvement. Look at the deaths of two pilots in Darwin, which rumour has the local FOI at the time directing how the procedure was done. RESULT: Lost aircraft and two deaths in a manoeuvre that could never be achieved.
