  1. Just wondering about how much an Instructor/ Mentor or the likes, needs to Wack someone if they feel they have stepped out of line. Or possibly done something which they may have already learnt from! Admittedly Iam a Junior in the field ! However ,If I were the Instructor/Mentor or the likes and I felt it my duty to address a situation. I would remove the addressee from the situation, discuss it, then ask if they felt they had learnt from thier doing's. If the answer and the feeling from the discussion, came back in such a manner, I felt it had sunk in. Then I believe this is where it should sit! If I or anyone else was to keep wacking it in after the, addressee, had confessed they had learnt a lesson. Would we then not to be considered WACKER'S ourselves! Let's Live and Learn and Not Be Wacker's
  2. Reverse is the go! amazing what it can save you from! and don't cars have reverse! OMG amazing the inventiveness of the country! Nessesity (spelling) was it the mother of invention, or the invention the mother of it?
  3. FF in your avatar, are you waving out the door or are you the PIC or maybe the 2IC? What this dark side business! looks very bright to me. I is z slo 1 !
  4. Absolutely, UR so on the ball! so when are you coming to assist! I missed the whales! bummer! found out later they where about 3 mins fly from my path, things that happen! It was so smooth! Maybe I can learn from that! So how are you Ed? and when will we see you? Sad about Decca. Glad I had made the effort to stop in and meet him and keep in contact!
  5. Thats a bit sad, the old bugger! Used to tell some good stories, like " the weather was that bad I had to get out and open the gates". Always had a good yarn to fill in the blank spaces. Never sure how much truth was in them sometimes, by heck though, they were just interesting to listen to! Rest @ it Ol Fella! Cheers
  6. Hi Guys finally had to go with FF's deal, as the Codeweavers seemed to have some challenges running the program to capacity(meaning it did some funny things that it doesn't normally do) Just amazing to have a Machine that is capable of running both systems, don't know why I never bought a MAC a long time ago! Thanks Very Much for the Help!
  7. Hi Tomo We are in the process of purchasing a Hangar House Block @ Temora Airpark. With the full intention of being based there. The positives we saw, centraly located to Wagga,Tumut,Griffith,Young,Cowra,Cootamundra,Goulborn etc(all have airports) Also relatively close to Sydney,Dubbo,Canberra And thats all drive time. When you fly! You know. Also I do a fair bit of my work in Nth NSW, some also in SA, with whatever will happen in the future. As you say very good value with services on the blocks, elecricity, water, sewage, telephone and town gas all at the front of your block. And of course there is a sealed taxiway @ z back door and a sealed roadway at the front door.Negatives will need to take the kids to Wagga for gymnastic and swimmsing lessons, however that is not for ever! and it is only 85kms away! The local council is the place to start your enquiries, google airparktemora we are block 75. can supply # and name if you wish, pm me. if you can't find it when you search it! The other being good weather relative to the rest of the eastern seaboard, just on the edge of the Great Divide, before it gets seriously flat. Happy Hunting
  8. Very Smooth, UL could we have the specs of your camera please!
  9. Forget mum, just left her behind! And what was the other thing I was meant to look in?
  10. Hi there departed Tyabb this morn, over the mallee now 155nm to run Jamestown SA, nice flying, pitty Iam not going the other way! still got 115kts gs though! What am I in?
  11. Thats a Good question and am sure there are many reasons, possibly including! A more simple intake manifold system. Two small venturi's may control and atomise the air-fuel mixture better! You get more practice rebuilding and tuning two carby's. Twice as many airfilters to clean, twice as many carby heats to set up etc

    Savannah S

Next they will put some windows in the back and call it a "SavBat" imagine the paint scheme that will go with that!
  13. Well Done Rach, on the Solo and solo's more! Great Video to, what sort of camera are you using. I bought one to stick on the front of my helmet, works OK, however think I need a Hi Res version as it doesn't seem to be as clear as your's. Hope you get some nice weather today! Near Tyabb at z mo and it looks socked in, seems standard for down here this time of year! Have a Great Day!
  14. Hi There from "Down Under" Welcome, am coming over for a quick visit to the USA in late July-August, we will manage to fit in "Oshkosh" and a couple of other delight's. Should be Fun!
  15. Hi Maj Looks great! Love the concept! will you have full length flaperons, as per Foxbat, will you employ negative flap to assist with top end speed, maybe even a trim able tailplane to decrease drag in the cruise. Oop's just flexing the grey matter, not trying to move in!
  16. Sorry FD not realy up to speed on all that stuff, really just a mobile phone for me, and the other coupla tings I mentioned! No doubt someone will know it all!
  17. Hi There FD have an HTC HD2, bought just before Easter, probably would have purchased an iphone. However the iphone has super bluetooth which was not going to work with the average Bluetooth thingy I can plug between headset and aircraft. Also the HTC HD2 comes with 16gig mem as standard 5mp camera and an FM reciever. Sold it for me, means I can listen to mp3 or local ABC, especially whilst cruising accross the crop on a Sunday Morn listening to Macca, and all with one device. You can bluetooth it to whatever and it will also plug straight into the Zulu headset with the standard cable, coming with the Zulu. Although it doesn't have the Telstra Blue Tick, am on Next G, I have found the reception to be very good, whilst standing alongside someone with a late model Nokia, they had to move to get reception whilst I stayed put! So you could say all in all I am impressed with it as a Phone, and there is so much stuff I have no idea about, I do know it doesn't have my cup of tea ready when I get out of Bed!
  18. togo Hi Taskman "togo" should have been to go, as in do you need to go to the city every day! sorry bout that, me gramma not real good and me spelling no betta! And what exactly is Java, it seems to appear on my computer every now and then and I have no idea! Who or what it is or does! With the wonderful world of communication these days, how are you not able to work from home or anywhere in fact? Why heck some people pilot there aircraft whilst sitting in a heated office while there aircraft is on the other side of the world landing at some remote place, like Australia!:hittinghead:
  19. Hi Jools, welocome, weather has been a bit yuk on the Mornington P the last couple of weeks, with a few nice days thrown in. Have you managed to nail the final bit yet? You can do it! Have fun and keep the instructor awake, it's good for them!HaHa Lol
  20. Hi Jason Welcome great to see what you are talking about, thought the first looked a bit of a challenge! Second really good, thanks for the look. How many horse power pushes you along, and once you switch it off, does it create much drag or do you have to keep it running?
  21. Welcome John, what aircraft did you learn in at Kent? Something interesting no doubt! Have fun!
  22. Hi There Peter Welcome to the fray, cold here on the Mornington P today, a bit more acceptable up your way! Happy Building!
  23. Welcome Taskman, what line of work are you in, do you need togo to the cbd to work? Mittagong in the Southern Highlands has an airstrip. A few airline pilot's live round there!Cheers
  24. There used to be a strip alongside Junama Pondage, the little lake beside Talbingo between Lake Talbingo and Lake Blowering, think also SMA. Not far from either Tumut or Cabramurra. You could walk into Talbingo! Reckon the Army used to operate Carabou into Cabramurra!
  25. Interesting! is the left wing the port or starboard one? looks to me as if the port wing has contacted the water, however on reading the report it suggests the right aileron has the damage!
