  1. Hi Karen Welcome from central Oz, Jamestown SA couple hundred k's north of Adelaide. Flew into Essendon the other week, first time in Radar control in 20 years! You'll be right, you can do it! Cheers and have fun, Guy
  2. Hi Guy's Jamestown Flying Group, Jamestown South Oz, have a new shiny J230 (lovely aeroplane), to private hire it you need to be a Group Member,$50/year, and it will cost you $120 pvt hire. Of course after being instructed on how we would like our aircraft operated and checked out by the appropriate person or persons. Dual hire is $180/hour and includes ground briefings in and out of the lesson. These prices are wet and are tacho, not sure how the tacho actually functions, other than that the master was left on by a club member overnight and the tacho did not tick over so to speak and the battery did not go flat. And fule is reinbursed, when you purchase it away, at the rate the club pays for it! Cheers Guy
  3. We need one of those are they expensive? Cheers Guy
  4. Hi Jim They are a great aircraft, however it all comes down to what you want to do! What engine does the one you are looking at have? 2 stroke/4 stroke and horses? If you are going any distance they don't go there in a hurry! If you just want to get your bum of the ground and go up the road for a coffee, they are a great machine for this, or if you like to have a good look at things while touring, they also good. If you need to get somewhere in a relatively short space of time, maybe you should consider something else! Cheers Guy

We expect about 150 to 200 people for the Hangar Dinner, some of those will drive in and some will walk and some will fly, maybe around 40 - 50 planes at a guess! You'll have to be here to find out! Cheers Guy

Looks Great Geoff Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh! The photo taken at the airport, looking under a wing, is the wing a Kingair or similar? it looks like it has been left abandoned in the grass! Cheers Guy

  11. Are there any available so you guy's can come to Jamestown in April? Cheers Guy
  12. Not sure if a mistake or an incident, Taking of from paddock, down hill, heavily loaded, massive quartering tailwind gust, not quite clearing fence at end of paddock. The full story available at Echuca next weekend! See you there! Just Lovin It! Cheers Guy

  16. We'll be there! That means 2 of us! Wants! Egg's, Bacon, Coopers Pale Ale, we can bring some nice Red if you are cooking steak! then again red goes with most things! And that new thing you posted the other day, we would like to try that out! When you lay your head between the mountains does it play nice music to put you to sleep, or do you have to tweek the tip's of the mountains to organise this. Fantastic Cheers Guy
  17. Thanks Slarti Be thee with bells on! Cheers Guy
  18. One is assuming this is still happening! We are planning on being there! Will there be any Coopers Pale Ale? The most important question of the lot! Cheers Guy
  19. Hi Tony and welcome aboard! to a great load of fun! You should get heaps of input from your question, noise levels! inside or out? Usuall thing the faster you go the more air noise you get. However from the ground can be very quite! Used to live at Dora Creek, not far from Avondale! However never flew from there, had a mate who was an instructor there, however that was probably the late nineties! Cheers Guy
  20. Facthunter Nev What is the deal with PIFR, are you alowed to use this in daylight hours only or can it be used at night? If you can use it at night, do you then need a NVFR so you can do a circuit and land? as I believe the PIFR is only for enroute and not for approaches, please correct me if I am wrong! If anyone is doing IF training ,it is best done in IF conditions if at all possible, as simulated conditions are as it says, "Simulated". If IF conditions are not available then the darkest of dark nights way out in the sticks, nowhere near a city would be a great way of making you use your instruments! Really good for no visual Horizon and very scary above 500' agl! Keep it Visual Cheers Guy:;)3:
  21. Sceptics "Of course he would say this. He wants your money! " Very Scepticle, why do pepole assume this! There are actually instructors who do have your best interests at heart you know! And of course we want your money, we have to eat as well you know!:) Have A Great Day Cheers Guy
  22. Great Photo's guy's! keep em coming Cheers Guy
