Of all the Queenstown approach vids out there this is by far my fave. "....your proficiency to fly the approach" nothin, the FMS is flying that bad boy.

mothra replied to kaz3g's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
My assessment and you can have it for free Wozza, Report Begins. - under resourced - waste the resources they do have on box ticking exercises. Report Ends. Job done. -

If max crosswind in POH is exceeded is insurance void
mothra replied to DrZoos's topic in Aircraft General Discussion
How would the insurer know max xwind was exceeded at exactly the time you botched the landing? -
Mysterious coolant loss in a Rotax 912 85hp
mothra replied to matt walsh's topic in Engines and Props
Its amazing how many ways coolant finds its way out. A cooling system pressure tester lets you pressurise the cooling system while cold and not running so you can spot those tiny leaks at hose clamps, rad header tanks, gasket surfaces etc. They are a reasonably standard auto workshop tool if you have a friendly mechanic. Stant do a good one Ive seen occasionally at the usual auto stores. -
Loved the RC aerobatics. (and the slow roasted lamb roll)

Theres no AIP phraseology requirement to close out an RT exchange, just give the instruction and get the appropriate readback. Any salutations are just a professional courtesy, I favoured "ooroo" myself.

If you are OCTA you wont be being separated , more likley youll be being passed as traffic to an IFR. If youve called up for nav assistance youll be asked to ident so they can be sure where you are to start with.

Have you checked the listings on the RaAus site. Under Contacts, Instructors and Maintenance ( or something similar)

Con, All the regular rental companies are represented in the baggage claim area of the main terminal, not sure if they will drop off or meet you at ga Its not a long walk but might be a challenge with a tribe.

Get after it Puren, you won't regret it. Gazelle may not be the sexiest looking thing but they are a good machine to learn in.

Planned YGLB, Marulan, Wombeyan Cave, YCRL, YGLB. Diversion about 5 min north of Marulan to YCRL via Chatsbury. Clear as day on the chart but the bastard doesn't exist! Sorted that out then an uneventful run home via Crookwell.

You're on the list, already dreaming of Lake Mungo, Arkaroola, Clare and home

Any suggestions for scenic flights within 100nm of Goulburn?
mothra replied to Eric McCandless's topic in Trips/Events/Seats
Eric, I recently flew YGLB Nerriga Touga Tallong (diversion) YGLB, nice and compact. Look out for YSNW restricted areas but plenty of good cues along the route. -
Meh, i'll take an FK 14 Le Mans thanks.
