  1. At least you shouldn't be paying for the ILS at YGLA, when it finally gets off the ground.
  2. Gnome, the digits refer to a bearing and distance from the point, so Williamtown 179008 translates to bearing 178 from Williamtown at 008 nm.
  3. Just bought the last piece of Aussie rib, <Homer voice> mmmm ribs.
  4. On edge or just trying to work out how to fix it with the bobcat? He loves that bobcat.
  5. "I say I say, my dog cant eat meat" "Why not?" "I dont give him any" Almost as old
  6. From the ground I found Kings Canyon (and the Olgas for that matter) far more interesting and beautiful than The Rock. Cant wait to get back there with some wings. Sweet runway at YKCS, nearly endoed one of their quad bikes when she got the speed wobbles up at full noise half way along the strip. Camel burgers are recommended also.
  7. Always loved Bugatti designs, well perhaps not that ugly p.o.s. Veyron but thats just a badge enginnering exercise. Even if it doesnt fly, what a beautiful thing!
  8. Grrrrrrr. Painting the ceiling wishing I was flying.
  9. Suitably corrected Jake, Im confusing the ifr transponder provisions with the general carriage provisions you list.
  10. 2014 date is for aircraft newly on the Australian register or replacements of existing units. I guess the important thing to consider is that mode A should not be fitted any more. Be careful with the nprm, most of the provisions apply only to aircraft operating under IFR
  11. Just got home. There certainly are some beautifully finished offerings if you have a lazy $100k lying around. ( come on Lotto) The red three whelled thing is Lightwing's electric city car.
  12. Low hours pilots can still be professional, high hours dont stop you being a cowboy. Its the actions and attitude not the hours. Just my two bits.
  13. Melbourne club rallies and making up the numbers in the odd state round back in the 80s when you didnt need road closures and safety officers ( or roll cages and fire suits for that matter). Full tilt over the mineshaft remains on the to 'do list' though.
  14. Thanks Bex I have a couple of friends into Vintage MX and circuit racing. Those older bikes and riders still tear it up, way faster than Im capable of. Still its good to go along and wrench for them, great social atmosphere. My dear old dad scrambled BSAs and Velocettes, god knows how he managed that. At 50 my racing days are done, Ive rallied, raced and even turned a few laps at Phoenix in an Indy car. Ill stick to flying now thanks, believe it or not its a cheaper pastime!
  15. GFTC fleet, mainly 3184 and 5515
  16. Guaranteed rain, Im hoping to get to Natfly as well
  17. Well its been four months since my last flight and Im repaired enough to get back in the air. Kept it to a session of circuits just in case and took an instructor along for the first couple. So good to be back in the air, scheduled for those last pesky navs over Easter.
  18. Congrats Eric, I've been following and feeling your pain. Can't wait to get back and finish my xc.
  19. 28. "Its a small world". Yeah but try and paint it next weekend. (Apologies to Steven Wright)
  20. Top map Greybeard, I've been looking for an excuse to visit Lake Mungo for ages. Just need the body to heal and I' off.
  21. Welcome SM. Love the Bobber, sort of Pimp My Piper Cub.
  22. Yes it was on cable about a month ago. For me the show was too long, drawn out with what appeared to be stage managed problems. Couldn't turn away though, just waiting to see what would happen to the big bird.
  23. Welcome Bernoulli. Like your choice of sig, sounds like you already know something of aviation.
  24. Welcome fly-guy. Fires still on the go in the alpine areas in the south and floods in the tropical areas in the north.
