  1. Om inclined to agree with yoo Mr Care. They recon peeble will spend 25 MILLION this crissy, mostly on $hit that nobody wants. Retailers whinge about the hard time their having while each year there's record spending at crissy. Spending for spendings sake is what the retailers are after, mark up 100% and yoor right to rip off.
  2. Does anybody have trouble with the website being slow and quite delayed in movement at times? I have no trouble with many other websites only this one
  3. There have been quite a few different aircraft not equipped that have landed on carriers. A pommie Beaver landed on a Pommie carrier, about a third the size flight deck to a yank one. Even heard of a Herk landing on a yank one.
  4. Sometimes depends on aerial location and where the other aircraft is..................say if your aerial is mounted on the top at the front and the aircraft is behind and below you.
  5. I had to go to Brisbane Eagle farm a few years ago, there was an AN12 took off. It took the entire length of the runway that heads to the east to get off. It then just hopped over any high ground and headed out over the water. There was that much crap coming from the engines it looked like the machine had a cargo of burning tyres!!! You could still see the trails from the engines 15 minutes later, bit different to western engines.
  6. Bubbleboy, yours all wood or steel tube fuse? What engine you going to run?
  7. Every aviator has had a moustache at some time or other. It's coming up to Movember, time for some of yoo to grow face fungus for charity. You gone through your moustache stage yet Darren? Jodels are a nice machines, what has yours for a power plant D11 Dad?
  8. That's a lot, must be a good set up. Prop balancing doesn't seem as important as it used to be. Spose composite and metal blades are more balanced from the factory than wooden ever were. There are simple ways of balancing props but yoo wouldn't get it to the nearest flea testicle like the lectronik one's. Do yoo have trouble focusing your eyes with full power Dex? Are your arms going to sleep from the vibrations?:D
  9. My first lesson was in 1978, done a few hours since. I will be flying today, hopefully I will still learn something.
  10. I got a paper cut once doing all the CASA amendments, aviation can be dangerous
  11. How do you find the fly by wire (Lectroniks) in the Airbus compares to the fly by wire (Stainless steel) in the Mirage? Does the sidestick give much feedback?
  12. How is the clarity of the screen in and out of strong sun light? What sort of dollars are yoo looking at for a unit and can you panel mount one?
  13. Was Rec flying, dunnoo if my link is current but to tell the truth I can't be bothered cause last time I had a look there was mainly opinionated dribble.
  14. I notice tonight when I went to have a look (First time in years) on another well known website it's shut down, is it related to the troubles at the RAA board?
  15. Yip, still here. Summer time is quiet, plenty of time to loggit the net and annoy peeble. Fire season finished so the harder work starts, less time to computerize. Bit of super here, some pine work there, next some pre emergence. Next thing you know another rust run will go into the rice season then it's time to have summer holidays again  You goanna get busy in SA? Still do a few peas west?
  16. Mr Pat, what sort of summer did you have? It's been very quiet this side of the border, I see the Mt Gambier aircraft have been pulled. Have yoo some stuff to do on the pines and crickets during the winter lined up?
  17. Yip all of that PLUS it buggers up old hoses
  18. Headlines always sound good, this one is linked to the mentioned incident http://www.smh.com.au/travel/travel-news/pilot-who-landed-plane-nosefirst-faked-licence-documents-20110228-1bakq.html So it might sound sexist but from reading other information the passenger who objected knew the pilot that's why he refused to fly. Turns out he might have had good reason. Mostly press are only interested in headlines not accuracy.
  19. Ethanol can be a problem with older machines as well
  20. Me too, the net fills a bit of time in. Looks like it's going to be a quiet year on the fire side, least on this side of the country anyhoo.
  21. Givern up using detectors, they always go black shortly after putting them in.
  22. They sent two from Vic last week, they arrived after the last crisis and were sent back to Victoria. They headed off again Sat or Sunday. So that'll be at least 45 hours each before they have dropped a load. At about $9000 an hour that's a lot of cost.
  23. Some a bit smaller and closer to home
  24. You won't get anything cheap, any aircraft pieces new or used are expensive. You mention flaps, what use are you going to put them?
