  1. Yep level 6 is not as easy as many would think. I got through it easily but it takes some concentration!
  2. I would only to start worry if there was a sheep in there to.
  3. Thought that whats up australia site was canned based on user feedback?
  4. Think the blood has already damaged Joel's brain from his aerobatics career. Note: No personel attack but something is making him not think.
  5. Looks simple and clean to me on the ipad.
  6. Pretty funny that for a level 6 your basically listening to an audio recording of foreign nationalities talking to ATC and you have to read back what they said. So much for an english language assessment, your basically learning accents of other nationalities and it has nothing to do with english. I know a few 100% Australians that have failed this !! The foreigners should be learning our language and if you are 100% born and bread aussie why are we having to do this?
  7. anyone know what this is? lol that is a preety impressive vertical speed lol Edit: Interesting info from there forums.... Aussie Feeders - Page 106 Ground vehicles 7CF7CA= SSM1 (Sydney Site Monitoring) located at Centrepoint Tower 7CF7CB= SSM2 (Sydney Site Monitoring) located at Centrepoint Tower 7CF7CC= SSM3 (Sydney Site Monitoring) located at Kurrajong Heights 7C7FCD= SSM4 (Sydney Site Monitoring) located at Razorback. As far as I'm aware they're test transmissions from ground stations which transmit 24/7 for monitoring the performance of radar, M-LAT and ADS-B signals, but certainly not ground vehicles. I tried to obtain the ground vehicle identities for Sydney Airport from Air Services Australia for the database but was unsuccessful and advised that they are frequently rotated from vehicle to vehicle in any case. I tried listening to SYD on LiveATC and working them out from the map but ended in utter confusion as the vehicles aren't always picked up on the map in their exact locations (sometimes moving all over the place due to buildings etc blocking the signal), and there is a slight delay in the LiveATC transmission. The following list I obtained from another site; 7CF43D - Car 2? (my observation) 7CF452 - Car 4 7CF44E - Car 5 7CF441 - Car 9 7CF447 - Car 11 7CF449 - Car 66 7CF45C - Truck 39 7CF45A - Tractor-1 (slasher) 7CF459 - Tractor-2 (slasher) 7CF47E - Mower 4 (ride-on)
  8. They have flown from the parkland to the left of the eastlink freeway and also in the park to the right of the freeway. They are radio equipped but only heard them on 123.450 when there was two of them chatting to each one day. That was a few years back though.
  9. Congratulations on obtaining your recreational pilot certificate today Sean. Such a great achievement, especially for someone of your age. Now when all the boys at school try and impress the girls with there cars or motorbikes you can go "wanna come for a fly in my plane" :)
  10. They don't make things like they used to :)
  11. There are many reasons why this could be happening, could be as simple as heat evaporation or it could be the current draw the battery is getting, it could even be a dodgy battery.

  13. Hi CB, Sorry for the late reply have been absent from the forum for a few months, no I never ended up going with it as the deal to put it online fell through, I was going to see if Avia were interested in having another one online but never bothered as they have quite a few online including Simon Hackett's. But the moment I can secure somewhere to put it online I will make the purchase without hesitation, the finance is there waiting to be used.
  14. Neither did I until they told me, I kinda thought they were taking the piss outta me untill they started telling me stuff only My local doc or I would know.
  15. I encountered some problems with the annual medical this year round. The casa medical officers were complete as****es, however there were a few who were extremely helpful and if it wasnt for them I would still be grounded. Having a few minor health concerns this year and having to have a stress echocardigram on the heart did not help even though it said there is no concern. I prefer to tell CASA everything that they ask for nothing less and nothing more that way I can't get into shit for falsifying the medical. Anyway, DAME said nothing wrong you all good, rung casa to see how the medicals going, sorry but it has been rejected!! What the! I have held a medical for 18+ years both class 1 & 2 and never had a problem, so I said oh it must be the stress echocardiogram so I rung the DAME to see what he thinks and he said there is no way that would prevent me from holding a medical neither would any of the other stuff so I was stumped. Called CASA and disputed it, I said what is the problem? They said back in 1996 yes 1996!!! There was an issue with your medical history, that was my very first medical, I go so after 20 years of holding a medical your going to block me even though CASA has had the information on the database for the whole of the past 20 years? I raised an official complaint and they called for a doctors panel to go over my case and after 3 days they approved the medical, This caused a lot of stress. Be warned people, during this entire process I was informed that casa has access to medicare and the ndis database, so if you fail to disclose something they can easily find out. They even new I had grommets in my ears when I was born !!! Once again if it was not for those few casa avmed staff members who worked there butts off to resolve this I would still be grounded. I was a strong supporter of CASA but this is starting to change my opinions and making me reconsider flying, going back to my avionics career is high on the cards.
  16. Another reason to only let avionics techs do the job.
  17. Make sure your not browsing via "in private browsing" "incognito"
  18. I remember "now you see them, now you don't" being said by the pilot (live commentary) who was flying it avalon during the airshow.
  19. Not sure on the one in Melbourne but there is a piston one (not jet) owned by Charlie Chua in WA think the rego is VH-UBD
  20. Man that trailer is low, is that road legal?
  21. This one is for you Phil http://www.news.com.au/finance/work/at-work/police-officer-faces-sack-after-topless-selfie-in-patrol-car-with-semiautomatic-on-her-lap/news-story/db2456834fca3b83f2aab4e003f3f0b1
  22. Ahhhhh Now that is something I would not try.
  23. If that school had ceased I would be making sure that those training hours you did were legal. If you were doing flying lessons in a school that had shut down I would be making sure that there training approvals were valid.
