My neighbours' wife has this weird behaviour also.

O.K , so they put their belt around her neck and pull it up tight.............How did they get the gun on board, can't even take a nail file on these days.. -
So they ask who has the key, no one answers. They grab a pax and shoot em in the head, they ask again, who has the key........Maybe, but the pax shouldn't know who he or she is. -

You're looking at the wrong guy.the CEO gets paid the same regardless of how many planes are grounded whilst he is at the helmAsk yourself who has the tech knowledge to work out what's what. Then ask what line of work are the people in who have just been given a whole lot more work to do by this decision.

So, a person holds a party on their property, half the guests are sleeping in tents, said person decides to churn up the paddock in their 4wd but when reversing it out of the shed he backs over your daughters tent. Should he be breathe tested so the court can decide his level of liability? If that's true, then all I can say is it's goddamn wrong. I am all for breath testing on public roads; you have an obligation to drive safely not only for yourself and anyone who's in your car, but for every other road user too.If however you want to drink a carton of beer and tool around your property on your ride-on mower, then you should be able to. You're not covered by MAIB, you're not required to register the vehicle, you're not putting anyone else at risk and if you're stupid enough to roll it and break your silly neck, that's your own business. The cops don't come and breathalise you when you get pissed and juggle carving knives or ride your skateboard down the stairs, so I fail to see how operating machinery within the boundaries of your own property is any different.Don't get me wrong, I think you should be able to do your own thing on your own property, as long as you don't involve anyone else.
I think, if in juggling the knives when you where pissed you inadvertently stabbed someone else, they would breathealize you and probably drug test you as well....

Hi Bob,
I might be missing it but I can't see where that one shows the different altitudes, the other one has a tab down the bottom right where you can change the altitude.
I reckon that will be handy when you are trying to beat your mates home , you can check where the most advantageous winds are . As long as they aren't reading this

This should be cool, once I figure out how to drive it properly

Thanks Modelm,
I stand corrected.
My claim was based on my own experience about 18 years ago, when I did some research into putting one on our farm for our own use ( we use a lot) and selling the rest to the grid. I don't remember the figures other than the cost of a reconditioned generator was around $225000.00 without the tower to put it on or connecting it to anything. The other limiting factor was that it had a very short TBO (again unfortunately I can't remember the exact figure , so I won't guess) I didn't go any further after I was given those ball park numbers.
Regards Bill

If you show me the farm that has that much invested, there is no reason why it won't have a reasonable profit. Not at all. My point is that farmers need the fuel subsidy - mining doesn't. Look at the books for Rio Tinto over the last 20 years and show me the farm that makes that sort of profit. Most of the farmers you here about that are making losses or barely breaking even is because they are under capitalized
-
No, I'm saying if they do they are breaking the lawAre you saying that farmers and miners don't fill up their road vehicles with off-road diesel? -
And just like the primary producers, the fuel used on the roads has the excise levied. You won't see any of those big dump trucks driving on Government roads though.find me a mine in Australia not connected to our road network -
As Gnu says, fuel excise is levied for the maintenance of roads, an excellent user pays system. Miners, primary producers and aviators, don't use the roads so why should they pay?

Any of you want to do the maths on the installation and maintenance costs compared to what they produce.
They wouldn't exist without subsidies.
If you want clean, economically viable energy, hydro is it.

The ABC report seems to have a few details in it, surely they did some research before reporting.I notice that the perpetrator of this inaccurate, erroneous and biased report on PPRUNE joined this site on Monday. No profile and as much anonymity as possible. It would be good to see them come forward and declare what agenda they are running in posting this misleading and defamatory report. -
Only problem with that, is, we will all be lying in that same bed ( it's gonna get smelly in there). Well they made their bed and now they can lie in it.- 1
