  3. ________________________________  Whether you love him or hate him, he hits a raw nerve! Maybe Pauline Hansen can join him. Bob Katter…. Saying it as it is: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- "I am the Labor Party's Worst Nightmare. I am a White, Conservative, Tax-Paying, God fearing Australian. I am a hard working Australian and I work long hours to earn a living. I believe in God and the freedom of religion, but I don't push it on others. I drive Australian-made cars, and I believe in Australian products and buy them whenever I can. I believe the money I make belongs to me and not some bloody governmental functionary, Labor/Greens or Liberal, that wants to share it with others who don't work! I'm in touch with my feelings and I like it that way! I think owning a home doesn't make you a capitalist; it makes you a smart Australian. I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized, and does not entitle you to anything. Get over it! I believe that if you are selling me a Big Mac or any other item, you should do it in English. I believe there should be no other language option. I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they want to. My heroes are, fellow Australians like Don Bradman, Steve Waugh, Alan Langer, Slim Dusty, Fred Hollows and the Aussie scientists who invented the bionic ear – missed a few I know. I don't hate the rich, but hate the way they always find ways to pay less taxes. I don't pity the poor, I hate the way they are always crying that they are hard done by!! I know wrestling is fake and I don't waste my time watching or arguing about it. I believe if you don't like the way things are here, go back to where you came from and change your own country! This is AUSTRALIA....We like it the way it is and more so the way it was...so stop trying to change it to look like some other socialist country! If you were born or legally migrated here and don't like it... you are free to move to any Socialist country that will have you. (And take Julie Gillard and her group with you.) I believe it is time to really clean house, starting with the Lodge, the seat of our biggest problems. I want to know exactly, where the "Do Gooder's" get their money from, and why are they always part of the problem and not the solution? Can I get an AMEN on that one? I also think the cops have the right to pull you over if you're breaking the law, regardless of what race, color or creed you are, but not just because you happen to be an illegal alien and scream that they are "RACISTS PIGS". And, no, I don't mind having my face shown on my driver's license. I think it's good.... I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me stuff or trying to guilt me into making 'donations' to their cause....Get a job and do your part to support yourself and your family! I believe that it doesn't take all the intellectuals to raise a child, it takes two parents.... I believe 'illegal' is illegal no matter what the lawyers think! I believe the Australian flag should be the only ones allowed to be flown in Australia ! If this makes me a BAD Australian, then yes, I'm a BAD Australian. If you are a BAD Australian too, please forward this to everyone you know.... We want our country back! My Country..... I hope this offends all illegal aliens. My great, great, great grandfather watched as his friends died in the Boer War. My grandfather watched and bled as his friends died in World Wars 1&2. My grandfather watched as his friends & brothers died in the Depression of 32. My father watched as his friends died in Korea. I watched as my friends died in Vietnam, East Timor & Desert Storm. Our son's and daughters watched & bled as their friends died in Afghanistan and Iraq . None of them died for the Afghanistan and Iraq Flag. Every Australian died for the Australian flag. At a Victorian high school foreign students raised a Middle East flag on a school flag pole. Australian students took it down. Guess who was expelled..the students who took it down. West Australian high school students were sent home, because they wore T-shirts with the Australian flag printed on them. Enough is enough. This message needs to be viewed by every Australian; and every Australian needs to stand up for Australia. We've bent over to appease the Aussie-haters long enough. I'm taking a stand. I'm standing up because of the hundreds of thousands who died fighting in wars for this country, and for the Australian flag. And shame on anyone who tries to make this a racist message. AUSTRALIANS, stop giving away Your RIGHTS ! THIS IS OUR COUNTRY ! This statement DOES NOT mean I'm against immigration ! YOU ARE WELCOME HERE, IN MY COUNTRY, welcome to come legally: 1. Get a sponsor ! 2. Learn the LANGUAGE, as immigrants have in the past! 3. Live by OUR rules ! Dress as we Australians Do 4. Get a job ! 5. Pay YOUR Taxes ! 6. No Social Security until you have earned it and Paid for it ! 7. NOW find a place to lay your head ! If you don't want to forward this for fear of offending someone, then YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM ! We've gone so far the other way...bent over backwards not to offend anyone. Only AUSTRALIANS seem to care when Australian Citizens are being offended ! WAKE UP AUSTRALIA ! ! ! If you do not Pass this on, may your fingers cramp ! Made in AUSTRALIA & DAMN PROUD OF IT!!!!!" AMEN  Written by Bob Katter Â
  4. Teacher: Little Johnny, can you tell me the name of 3 great kings who have brought happiness and peace into people's lives? Little Johnny answered: Drin-king Smo-king and Bon-king.

  6. Hi all, I read the story today by Rob Knight on his experience flying the drifter. I don't understand why, because the propeller is close to the rudder more of the slipstream strikes the right side of the fin than the left thus making it more responsive turning right than left. Can anyone enlighten me? Are the motors offset to counter torque? Regards Bill
  7. Who is Jack Schitt? For some time many of us have wondered just who is Jack Schitt? We find ourselves at a loss when someone says, "You don't know Jack Schitt!" Well, thanks to my genealogy efforts, you can now respond in an intellectual way. Jack Schitt is the only son of Awe Schitt. Awe Schitt, the fertilizer magnate, married O. Schitt, the owner of Needeep N. Schitt, Inc. They had one son, Jack. In turn, Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt. The deeply religious couple produced six children: Holie Schitt, Giva Schitt, Fulla Schitt, Bull Schitt, and the twins Deap Schitt and Dip Schitt. Against her parents’ objections, Deap Schitt married Dumb Schitt, a high school dropout. After being married 15 years, Jack and Noe Schitt divorced. Noe Schitt later married Ted Sherlock, and, because her kids were living with them she wanted to keep her previous name. She was then known as Noe Schitt Sherlock. Meanwhile, Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt, and they produced a son with a rather nervous disposition named Chicken Schitt. Two of the other six children, Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt, were inseparable throughout childhood and subsequently married the Happens brothers in a dual ceremony. The wedding announcement in the newspaper announced the Schitt-Happens nuptials. The Schitt-Happens children were Dawg, Byrd, and Hoarse. Bull Schitt, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world. He recently returned from Italy with his new Italian bride, Pisa Schitt. Now when someone says, "You don't know Jack Schitt," you can correct them.
  8. Definition: A quasar is an astronomical entity that emits incredibly high levels of electromagnetic radiation (including light). The amount of energy emitted by a quasar dwarfs even the brightest stars, making them favorites of astrophysicists and cosmologists who wish to study distant space. There are over 60,000 known quasars, all of which appear to be very distant from us (based upon the observed redshift). The closest known quasar is 780 million light-years away. Many scientists believe that a quasar is created by matter interacting with supermassive black holes. This would appear to explain the high energy output and the rapid variability observed in their luminosity. The quasar is formed when matter falling into the black hole is flung back out, creating superheated beams of energy .
  9. I think the wing in this video is a bit special and not commercially available. From 1:38 through to about 2:00 the pilot is steering with the nose wheel
  10. Hi David, I think you'll find the lines in the canola crops are irrigation channels, they follow the contours to keep them level. Not sure if they are the type to shift water from point a to point b or the type that flood irrigate the paddocks they pass through. Regards Bill

  12. Hi Tex, It is certainly a manageable thing, I know this because it is something I have to do with my old grey top 582, but I think those Rotax people probably changed it because the new set up is better (usually there are two reasons for upgrades particularly in the automotive industry, either it is better or cheaper to build and I don't think oil injection would be cheaper). Good luck with it whichever way you decide to go. Regards Bill
  13. Hi Tex, Don't get me wrong I'm not an expert, but as I understand it , if you are on a long decent for instance and you have throttled back completely then there is only enough fuel going in to support the engine at idle but it may be doing a lot more than idle due to prop windmilling, or if you are climbing then immediately throttle off the fuel flow slows immediately but momentum keeps the motor spinning for a while. At these times with premix the lube is reduced per revolution the same time as the fuel. With the oil injection system the correct amount per revolution is still supplied regardless of how much petrol is going in. Regards Bill
  14. Hi Tex, I used to think I was better off putting the oil in myself in case of pump failure, but apparently this is rare. As I understand it the motor is better off with oil injection because at times of low power requirement it is still receiving the correct amount of oil but with premix when you reduce the fuel you are also reduce the lubricant. Hope that I have that right and that it is understandable. Nev will probably have something to say (he knows stuff ) Regards Bill
  15. I'm not sayin' anything Regards Bill
  16. Semi inclosed, Tundra wheels (well the poms think they're big), and a new innovation for the wing which changes the way the washout rods work in conjunction with the electric trimmer Regards Bill
  17. The Isobar is the name they give the lounge at Hotham airport, not sure if it is licensed or not. I've never been there in the snow season so the place is all closed up with not a soul in sight, but it looks like it is all set up to be quite a busy hub in snow season Regards Bill
  18. Hi all, Here is my first effort at a trip report: I've been wanting to tackle Mount Hotham for some time, and recently Bright had their Rod-Run weekend (recommend it to anyone vaguely interested in that sort of thing) , the weather report looked O.K for me to fly my 582 powered Pegasus Quantum over on the Saturday morning returning early on Sunday. My wife drove the car to provide transport once there and I also made arrangements for hangar space in case the weather was not suitable on the Sunday. After finishing all the must do's on the farm I finally got in the air by about 8:30am. I enjoyed some generally smooth air most of the way except for a bit of rough stuff landing at Hotham which I just had to do to get a pic at the highest airfield in Australia. The only downside which didn't really matter was a stiff head wind that at times saw me as slow as 28 knts ground speed, great for sight seeing. After 2hrs 20 min I arrived at Porepunkah Had a great day in Bright Saturday but got out of bed Sunday to a sky with a few patches of Lenticular cloud, so I consulted with the CFI at Porepunkah and decided to give the trip home a miss. Instead my wife and I had a pleasant little local flight around the area then spent more time enjoying the Rod Run, driving back over the mountain later in the day. I didn't have to wait long for an opportunity to bring the trike home so the following Friday we departed for Porepunkah at 5.15 a.m and arrived not long after 8am, fuelled up, preflight and in the air for home. I didn't have any ballast on board this time and I copped a bit of a buffeting going over the mountain. There was probably about 3/8 cloud cover but luckily it was clear at the summit so I didn't have to decide whether to go under or over the cloud. After looking at the pics I took on the way over I noticed that I didn't have the trike in the Hotham airport pic so if possible I had to land for another photo op on the way back , which was achieved without incident. I was intending to track the Great Alpine Road both ways but on the return journey I thought I could take a little short cut around the other side of a hill and meet up with the highway a little further on, only thing was I rejoined at Swifts creek which was a whole lot further on than I planned. It was never a problem as all the valleys lead to the Tambo river which runs along side the road most of the way but it shows how easily you can get lost when you cut corners! One hour forty minutes after departing Bright I was on the ground at home Regards Bill The Hotham to Feathertop walking trail Outside the Isobar (they wouldn't let me in) This one seems to get around a bit Cobungra Station Taking off from Hotham Hotham Resort Cobungra Station Thats home inside the circle

    Drifter Pics

Hi Nunans, unless you have the full perspective it is not possible to make that judgement, ie. you only see what the camera saw in that instant rather than what is out the other side or what is behind. Also I don't make a distinction between four stroke and two stroke with regard to Tiger country, sure the stats show the chance of engine out is reduced with a four stroke but it doesn't disappear so if I can't glide to a landing site I don't go there (not that I am seen in a four stroke very often). Just my opinion Regards Bill
  20. Fair dinkum Tomo, what is wrong with you? You looked at a trike and you didn't take a pic
  21. That's easy, it's like at Flemington where they keep the horses before the races except they are wider to accommodate the antlers.
  22. Wouldn't the foam idea make the struts much thicker thereby increasing drag? Maybe you could ask airborne where they source the fairings they use on their late model fast wings http://www.airborne.com.au/images/galleries/XT912-SST/pages/IMG_8377.htm Regards Bill
  23. You don't have to be an American, it's the way politicians use up their interview time so the amount of hard questions they have to answer is limited and so is the amount of actual answers Regards Bill
  24. A woman goes to the Doctor, worried about her husband’s temper and threatening manner. The Doctor asks: "What's the problem? The woman says: "Doctor, I don't know what to do. Every time my husband comes home drunk, he threatens to slap me around." The Doctor says: "I have a real good cure for that. When your husband comes home drunk, just take a glass of water and start swishing it in your mouth. Just swish and swish but don't swallow it until he goes to bed and is asleep." Two weeks later the woman comes back to the doctor looking fresh and reborn. The woman says: "Doctor that was a brilliant idea! Every time my husband came home drunk, I swished with water. I swished and swished, and he didn't touch me! How does the water do that?" The Doctor says: "The water does f--k all…it's keeping your mouth shut that does the trick...."
  25. Hi Wayne and D.J, I'm nowhere near as experienced as you guys, but I thought the angle of the wings (angle of attack) would become less relevant in tandem with the reduced airspeed to the point that it would make no difference at all ie. sitting on the ground you cannot calculate what angle is the stall angle without knowing the airspeed. Hope that all makes sense and I'm not making a total fool of myself. Regards Bill
