  1. Mark thanks for that info. Appreciate your input
  2. Thanks Mark, what sort of probs are we talking about, mine is under warranty
  3. Gday, what problems did you have?
  4. Thannks Thanks Frank. Will let everybody know next week when Radio reconnected following fixing of the crimping at the Radio end of the coax. Fingers crossed
  5. Mine is a factory build but I am hopeful since finding the bad coax crimping tday at the radio end that we may be on to the problem. And thanks for Fin removal comments. Last resort hopefully
  6. But also found crimping issue at Radio end of Antenna coax prior to test
  7. Good call, yep tday tested handheld connected to the Antenna coax and tested fine. Stay tuned!
  8. Frank yes as mentioned in another thread, i have just located a poor crimping issue at the Radio endof the Antenna coax. Will keep you posted.
  9. Yes separate intercom but no difference with intercom turned off.
  10. Thanks for that, so the Fin has to come completely off to get access to the Antenna?.....And have you heard of A Jab Antenna problem before?......appreciate y our input Deb
  11. And assumed that Radio Tech checked this when Radio removed. Radio will be reconnected after another Bench check asap and i will let you know how it goes.
  12. Mike had a look at the Radio end of the Antenna Cable today and yes,not crimped properly and BNC loose. Cant do anything on weekend but will get fixed and reconect
  13. Frank is the Antenna difficult to get to and/or remove?
  14. Yep, Radio is out at present
  15. Changed Coil on LH side which seems to have solved problem but only flown once since because now i have a Radio issue which i am working on! Hopefully Coil was the culprit with the engine issue but will keep eyeon it. Thanks Bruce
  16. No, problem tested the same right through a long taxi with turns etc. I was told of someone that had this issue at Archerfield once where distorted facing one way and clear another way.
  17. Deb coincidentally i was looking at a US website ast night where Comant make Antennas that fit to the Belly. Is is difficult to remove the existing Antnna in the Fin if we decide thats the problem?
  18. Andy thnks again for your interest and comprehensive reply. Will pass on your comments to the shop where i am getting Radio tested again. No change in Headset. Am using David Clark ProX and tested other Headsets in both sides with no difference. The problem is big distortion on transmit with engine both running and stopped. The problem arose a week ago when taxiing at Bankstown without any warning. Today the first Radio shop i tried said that it worked fine on the Bench so it MUST be the Antenna, and because they couldnt get to it, i was told, sorry mate, cant help you. Andy, have you heard of any instances where Jab antennas have been replaced? Anyway, lets see what happens on the second opinion scenario. Will keep you all posted Cheers Roscoe
  19. Yeah i know what you mean. At this stage getting another Bench test done but ive been advised Radio fineon the Bench. Now looking if it might be Antenna issue. Frustrating. Will keep you in the loop Cheers Roscoe
  20. Hi Paul, not exactly sure what he did on the Bench, but stated that Radio checked out fine, then reinstalled today in Aircraft but still horribly distorted on transmit on all freq therefore assumed problem is with Antenna installation. Jab Antenna is encased in fin, so Radio tech not able to go any further and still no closer to solution. Am seeking 2nd opinion and may have to opt for another Antenna installation on top canopy or on belly but will see when i get another opinion. Will let you know and thanks for your interest. Cheers Roscoe
  21. Andy, yes nothing added to Avionics since new.
  22. Yes i think the Radio Tech checked that when removing Radio
