  1. Much bigger attendance today. More aircraft, great weather, and a great event!
  2. I thought the Icom A-15 was approved for all ops?
  3. Ok thanks for that. Will go to the Ausfly Website and see if Airplane Registrations are happening!
  4. Does anyone know if this event at Narromine is going ahead this year? Tried to Register a couple of weeks ago, no luck.
  5. Having come ftom many years flying Warriors to my Jab, I still automatically press the non existent toe brake when I want to stop, but I am slowly getting used to it, and like the other guy, control the throttle with my left hand and the brake thru the yoke mount. I find this works very well when taxiing and with anticipation, very little braking is needed.
  6. I am here, weather perfect and and immersed in the usual Oshkosh comraderie. Far too much to see and do in one week, best to concentrate on the things that particularly interest you. Lots of Aussies about and all seem happy! This is Aviation heaven, has to be experienced.
  7. And have a look at the Sportys Pilot shop USA Website which has lots of Mount and Power options for IPads. I've found their service excellent albeit a bit expensive but whatever you need, they will have!
  8. Very well articulated Oscar!
  9. Phil what is the book recommended speed for the 230 with full flaps. I have a late model 170 which recommends 65kts with full flap and am wondering if our new mate is approaching a bit too fast? I have
  10. Thanks.Others have suggested its the tyres spinning after liftoff which can be fixed by applying brakes briefly.
  11. Wouldnt have come out of Bankstown. That is on the restricted Airport list for Jabs. There are a few Jabs parked at Camden that look like they havent operated for a long time. My guess is that it departed Camden.
  12. The Rescue Helicopters are based there and since the crew were not injured probably decision made to go back to Base where there are plenty of facilities.
  13. So at this stage their is no confirmation that departure was from Camden, he may have just been traversing their Airspace or overflying southbound.
  14. Everything ive seen on this forum so far, suggests a yscn departure for somewhere in Melb.
  15. What was the departure point?
  16. Thanks everyone. Had the issue at Coffs for the first time in that area recently.
  17. Has anyone had interference from Commercial Radio stations or TV channels when operating close to these transmitters?

    Starter issue

Thats exactly what happened today. Shorted across the Posts and Cranking happened immediately. Ordered new Solonoid. Looks like it can be replaced from within the Engine Bay fairly easily?

    Starter issue

The last 3 days, i am experiencing a problem whereby at button push, nothing happens and the starter light illuminates. After a few more attempts, i get a normal start with the light going out as usual. Battery charge is showing 12 Volts at startup. When the starter engages, there is no sluggishness in the start process at all. The Aircraft has had to be moved out onto the grass 3 weeks ago and i am wondering if moisture is the issue as its always early in the morning with high humidity present Today it took about a minute to get started, but when it engaged, it was normal. Would appreciate any assistance guys.
  23. And i bought my new J170d in March this year also.
  24. Well said mate!........my thoughts exactly.
  25. Lots of worthwhile comments here. Also have a look at the Sportys Pilot Shop website which has a whole section devoted to IPad tips.
