Thanks everyone. Had the issue at Coffs for the first time in that area recently.

Has anyone had interference from Commercial Radio stations or TV channels when operating close to these transmitters?

Thats exactly what happened today. Shorted across the Posts and Cranking happened immediately. Ordered new Solonoid. Looks like it can be replaced from within the Engine Bay fairly easily?

The last 3 days, i am experiencing a problem whereby at button push, nothing happens and the starter light illuminates. After a few more attempts, i get a normal start with the light going out as usual. Battery charge is showing 12 Volts at startup. When the starter engages, there is no sluggishness in the start process at all. The Aircraft has had to be moved out onto the grass 3 weeks ago and i am wondering if moisture is the issue as its always early in the morning with high humidity present Today it took about a minute to get started, but when it engaged, it was normal. Would appreciate any assistance guys.

Don hypothetically, if the Jab engine was replaced by a Rotax as you describe above, my Aircraft could still be operated in the 24 Category and problem solved if the proposal came into being??

So, to replace it with a Rotex engine would solve the problem?

I am currenty overseas and just reading all this with limited access to Internet. Has there been any mention of a date that this might come into effect at all?

And what about RAA-Aus Factory built models?

Just read all this and am a bit confused. I bought my new Factory built Jab in March this year. Am I correct in saying that if this Draft Proposal goes through, I cannot take a non pilot passenger with me on any flight?, or is the Propsal only for Amateur built Aircraft. Mine is RA- Aus registered. Appreciate clarification. I operate from Bankstown in Sydney.

Mate i started flying the J170 recently after many years of GA flying in Cessnas and Warriors and yes it is different but very satisfying. The Landing does take some getting used to, and you will find it does float, but ive found if you can nail the speed as per the book, and get the Control inputs right, it will fly itself!
