  1. Have alook at Clamback & Hennessy, next to the Control Tower. They use Piper Warriors for training, have been there for many years!
  2. Graham thanks for sharing the video. Too sophisticated for my needs but as you say, a similar price to the D2. I usually run it on the internal battery and always make sure its charged, as ive found that i get some radio interference when i plug it into the adapter on the panel. As i said, i am currently having no issues using the external antenna so hopefully, it will continue to perform satisfactorily. Regards.
  3. Interesting. I watched a number of promotional videos demonstrating the D2 before I bought mine, and they were demonstrated in Piper Cubs, various Singles and Twins, so I don't believe they were only designed for Gliders. Since my last Post on this subject, I have been using mine in the Jab on battery power with the external antenna on the dash, with no issues, so touch wood, am hoping it continues to operate normally. It's supposed to work without the external antenna, but in view of past issues, I'm just leaving it connected as above. Regards.
  4. News reports state Cessna 182. 2 aboard, both ok
  5. Anjum- back to my Post #2. There seems to be a trend coming through by very experienced Pilots whereby shutting off the Mags on final is not a good idea. I agree with this. Now that you have the benefit of this knowledge, again i suggest that you sit down with your Instructor and throw it around with him. See what he says, and consider that in the light of all these Posts. Regards.
  6. I think that you should be sitting down with your Instructor and going over the issues you have raised in this and other Posts Anjum.
  7. I have David Clark non electric Headset surplus to my needs. $200 Firm. PM me if interested.
  8. Yes the POH should be the guide for the particular aircraft type.
  9. I have Microair Radio and 2 David Clark noise canceling Headsets working fine!....and a PS Technologies Intercom
  10. Thanks mate, this seems to sum it up pretty well and answers my question. I appreciate you providing this article.
  11. And forgot to mention, Pump ON should be one of the Downwind pre landing checks.
  12. Turn off at top of climb, wings level, and be alert for rough running and/ or a drop in fuel pressure. Also keep aux pump on during critical stages of flight or extended climbs. There is no harm to the engine in having the aux pump on.
  13. Is a Metal Jerrycan safer than a Plastic one for refuelling? Also, i see the Auto Supply shops sell a Syphon with an "anti static" plastic hose that they claim reduces the possibility of static electricity and is a safer option than using a funnel. And what about "grounding" when refuelling from a Jerrycan on a high wing aircraft using the Syphon method. Comments appreciated, thanks.
  14. Mate I was shattered when someone said they do nothing for performance!!.......but still good to look at!
  15. Mate can you elaborate a bit? Do you mean the Bar readings on the MGL Bounce around and where in the Panel is the Instrument mounted. I recently had the MGL TC-3 CHT/EGT fitted to my Jab on the RH upper panel with no issues so far.
  16. Or Garmin Pilot 111. I have an old one not being used. If anyone wants it, $200 with Intruction Manual etc. PM me if interested.
  17. Wayne, PZW has been re birthed and is now in regular daily use at Clamback and Hennessy flying school at Bankstown Airport in Sydney. Its a fully IFR Warrior and very nice to fly! Thanks for the history.
  18. I bought a double USB Port Cig lighter adapter from Sportys Pilot shop for about $20 however ive found i get static through thr Radio while its charging. It has 2x 2.4 Amp USB slots but im disappointed with the interference. So I went to Jayco Electronics and bought a Battery Pack which sits in the side pocket of the Jab and charges the Ipad no problem. It will maintain 100percent charged for a long time
  19. Keith are you sure of your Model type? Ive never heard of a Garmin 111.
  20. I use the DUAL XGPS150 Remote Receiver on the dash, and have never had a problem with dropouts. If you google this gadget it gives you all the info and at approx USD $100 it's good value.
  21. N Never heard of this, but you can't go wrong using Oil recommended by the Engine Msnufacturer.
  22. Recently mine FROZE in flt so I re booted and it worked fine . On a 6 hour trip this week no probs at all but I do use the ext Ant even though the Unif is on the Dash! It's still under Warranty and its going back to Dynon soon to be looked at as I'm sure it still has issues! .
