  1. Andy, yes you are correct. must have been another issue but seems to work fine now.
  2. Used remote antenna today and worked fine! Looks like problem related to the Units internal antenna being shielded by the overhead cockpit material.
  3. Hi all I recently purchased this, and today it didn't display any info and the message seemed to stick on the acquiring satellites page. The box had a good view of the sky on the dash of my Jabiru. Has anyone else experienced issue? The first time I turned it on out of the box it had a display within 60 seconds but no luck today in fight. It shouldn't need the external antenna where it was mounted and all the advertising I've read mentions this fact. Thanks everybody.
  4. I should have mentioned mine is a Factory build LSA, not sure about other types.
  5. Jabiru have told me they need drawings of the proposed installation and details of who is doing the work. They then need to approve it. I have the MGL Gauge and probes ready to go into my Jab but decided to have Jabiru do the work to save any hassle!
  6. Thanks for that. MGL supplied me with all the Cabling and Probes, so hopefully it should do the job. The Panel is the usual Jabiru type material, but I will leave the hole cutting to an expert, unfortunately my handyman skills leave a lot to be desired!! but appreciate your comments.
  7. Oscar, yep, I have the 170D. Thanks for the info, yes ive been told that I need Jabiru approval as well.
  8. Thanks for that. Ive now purchased the Instrument and appropriate Probes from the MGL Aust Agent. Would you (or anybody) be able to recommend a Sydney based organisation with experience in this kind of work that could install it for me? Unfortunately this involves cutting an instrument hole in spare space on the RH side of the Panel. Appreciate any advice re installation. Roscoe
  9. Would appreciate feedback on User experiences with this instrument.( The TC-3 model) Looking at installing in my J 170 Jabiru Thanks a lot.
  10. And lets hope this is the new beginning for events like this that were so popular years ago. Congrats to the organisers
  11. Much bigger attendance today. More aircraft, great weather, and a great event!
  12. I thought the Icom A-15 was approved for all ops?
  13. Ok thanks for that. Will go to the Ausfly Website and see if Airplane Registrations are happening!
  14. Does anyone know if this event at Narromine is going ahead this year? Tried to Register a couple of weeks ago, no luck.
  15. Having come ftom many years flying Warriors to my Jab, I still automatically press the non existent toe brake when I want to stop, but I am slowly getting used to it, and like the other guy, control the throttle with my left hand and the brake thru the yoke mount. I find this works very well when taxiing and with anticipation, very little braking is needed.
  16. I am here, weather perfect and and immersed in the usual Oshkosh comraderie. Far too much to see and do in one week, best to concentrate on the things that particularly interest you. Lots of Aussies about and all seem happy! This is Aviation heaven, has to be experienced.
  17. And have a look at the Sportys Pilot shop USA Website which has lots of Mount and Power options for IPads. I've found their service excellent albeit a bit expensive but whatever you need, they will have!
  18. Phil what is the book recommended speed for the 230 with full flaps. I have a late model 170 which recommends 65kts with full flap and am wondering if our new mate is approaching a bit too fast? I have
  19. Thanks.Others have suggested its the tyres spinning after liftoff which can be fixed by applying brakes briefly.
  20. Wouldnt have come out of Bankstown. That is on the restricted Airport list for Jabs. There are a few Jabs parked at Camden that look like they havent operated for a long time. My guess is that it departed Camden.
  21. The Rescue Helicopters are based there and since the crew were not injured probably decision made to go back to Base where there are plenty of facilities.
  22. So at this stage their is no confirmation that departure was from Camden, he may have just been traversing their Airspace or overflying southbound.
  23. Everything ive seen on this forum so far, suggests a yscn departure for somewhere in Melb.
