  4. Hi Guy's , I am doing some research on a 1996 Airborne Edge , 582 Grey Head , with some success . I have been able to find serial numbers for the engine & base & the info I needed from that . I have a number off the Hang Block , E-272 , but can't find any reference to it anywhere . Does anyone know if the wing can be identified from this ? ie Edge , streak etc ? I have emailed Airborne , just haven't heard back yet . Any help greatly appreciated Cheers Troy Rep.
  5. Price aside , that is a very nice looking little aircraft with the added benefit of being a 4 stroke .
  6. An HKS 700e does sound like the perfect choice :-)
  7. Has anyone else seen this on EBAY recently ? Recreational Aircraft - Vampire The original was powered by a Rotax 447 I think , any idea was powers this one? Cheers Troy Rep.
  8. I've been watching it too . Repa is a relative of mine & that's exactly what he's like outside of work as well :-)
  9. Definitely after it was moved . Came down in bush on the outside of the boundary fence and was craned inside .
  10. True that . No allergies to bee stings , but allergic to smacking the ground at 60 knots when distracted lol
  11. I don't believe so . My arm was right next to the vent in the canopy and I felt it hit me before it stung !
  12. Beautiful day today . Sun is shining , birds are chirping & kamikaze Bee's are finding their way through the vent in the canopy & smacking sting first into my left forearm (throttle hand) whilst VERY late on final ! The impact was noticeable , the sting bearable , but the distraction could easily have cost me a pair of underpants :( I had to leave it hanging there whilst I completed a fairly ordinary landing & taxied clear of the runway . It got me thinking though , what have others endured or had "throw them" whilst on approach? Cheers Troy Rep.
  13. Great idea ... will join the FB group. :-)
  14. Woo Hoo ... The ranks of the West Aussies are rising ;-) G'day & welcome . Cheers Rep
  15. First solo yesterday :-) Was a great feeling ! Was warned about , but still didn't quite expect , the difference in climb rate . And I may be imagining it but even decent felt different . Eager to keep racking the hour up though . Cheers Repa

  21. Thanks guys. MTOW is not a deal breaker for me . I would just prefer more versatility . Independent engine exam and flight test are a prerequisite :-)
  22. Hi All, Looking at buying this http://aviationadvertiser.com.au/detail.php?id=4537 It ticks all the boxes for a rank beginner such as myself ie : 2 seater I can continue my training in Low Hours Four Stroke It's actually IN WA ! Sharp price . I did some homework on performance , fuel consumption , reviews etc & still keen . BUT when I went and looked at it I see the MTOW sticker has been changed to 450kgs despite being certified in South Africa (where it is made) , US & Canada to 560kgs MTOW (see below) http://www.aerotrike.co.za/cheetah/Specifications/specifications.html Can anyone offer a simple explanation or possible solution ? Cheers Troy
