    Out of interest are there any other kit manufacturers that have buy as you go kits? Zenith do but are there others? Also without starting a huge thread on it, are the wings still falling off ;) ?

    That's awesome. $375 (US?) for the starter kit, rudder assembly, instructions etc. Might be a good start.

    Plug plug ;) ;) Was looking at them last night. Will pick some up next pay day Ian. BTW, I was thinking last night, is it possible to buy a single component (that isn't going to break the bank) and have a go at assembling, say wheel assembly or something (just off the top of my head)?

    Thanks for the comments guys. Will check out that link blackrod. I think I am like your former boss. I have always wanted to fix up a car but never had someone to show me how. I build rc stuff of all types and absolutely love it. Just really wanted to watch someone in the flesh to make sure it is what I wanted to do before I went out and started to revive or create something.

    BTW, just out of interest. The only reason I am progressing to my PPL is to make use of controlled airspace. I have to drive for an hour to get to an "RA" airstrip. If i was to ask a concession, it would be CTA.

    Hi All, I've never really had anything to do with building stuff (my entire family are accountants. Guess how fun family functions are;) ). I want a kit to work on over the next 5-10 years as a project for fun. Question is how do I know if I am capable or not? I don't even know what's involved. Are there any clubs or anything where I can watch someone build occasionally and see what's involved? Cheers, Shags

    If you are ever in doubt for circuit joining in particular parts of the circuit refer to the diagram page 11 (13 in adobe) in here: http://www.raa.asn.au/comms/caap_166-1_166-2.pdf I love this diagram. I know it doesn't discuss right of way but it's good re: what THX is talking about.

    I'd agree with destiny flyer on what shoudl have happened (also why wouldn't he just come off the throttle a little also to increase that seperation?). But yes I have the same rules in the air as the road, don't trust the other guy coming towards you.

    Hi All, I subscrived to the Pilot's tips of the week that someone else on this board mentioned a while ago (can't remember who it was, sorry). They posted this yesterday and I thoroughly enjoyed it. THought i might share it with you all. PilotWorkshops.com Expert Round Table I really think that we could organise something like this. We have so much experience in this forum that a whole generation of pilots could learn from. Also this week the tip was in relation to coordinated turns. For anyone looking to make their flying really schmick I would recommend having a looksie. Cheers, Shags

    Change schools. I know that you get attached to an instructor but changing schools for me was the best thing I ever did. I changed for the same reason, it was sometimes up to a month before I could book another flight. The school I changed to was absolutely perfect and I couldn't be happier.

    I once did an absolutely beautiful landing. Floated for just enough time and when the wheels touched you could barely feel it, right on the centre line 1/3rd of the way down the strip. I'll be happy when they are all like that.

    You know you are starting to become profficient when you realise the mistakes you are making. Next step is to rectify them but it is all good.

    I have my pax and I think I am still trying to nail the landings. To be honest I don't think you will get them perfect till when into your career ;) or maybe it's just me. I always say that what you want is a good solid landing each time. Oh and don't forget the rudder when you apply power for touch and goes. Nearly went off the side of archerfield with that one once..l.

    One of many things the Tecnam has over most other lsa's. It has a really low (high) attitude. The horizon sits about 3/4 of the way up the windscreen giving you a fantastic view.

    It's just that trim level that resets when you move the stick. I just could never get used to it. Give my a trim wheel or button anyday. it is actually the only thing stopping me from buying a jab today. Maybe if I flew them a bit more I would get used to it.

    Dave: Gald that worked for you. Rampage: Will definitely do. Really the program just links directly to an access db that is in your documents (was really lazy here). The next update will allow you to select the location. Stick it on an avialable network drive and it shoudl be sweet. Allanw: can you please send me the full error and I will have a look for you.
