Question is "Should they be?" Maybe they shouldn't worry about this yet. Maybe there are far bigger priorities. Then again maybe they should for any number of reasons.
I personally don't know the answer. I know it would be better to have than not to have. Also if it is put off because there are bigger priorities, then I know from experience with organisations that that means it will never be done. There are always going to be bigger priorities.
You don't need to spend money to make the public aware. I am involved in wargaming, recently visited Canberra for a big tourney. It made it on to the news for channel nine and abc. My club in brisbane has just recently had a full colour article on what we do.
Natfly for example or other large events could be sent to the PR departments of papers and television studios. Hell try and get Grant Denyer out. You never know what might happen (NB. I hate sunrise, just I know how effective having them report on you is).
I'm with Darky. I just get in the car and drive. We are going to drive to townsville in a few weeks time (natural disasters permitting) just for the hell of it.
I've been going mad not being able to fly lately. Who's idea was it to buy a house. Even worse I have to listen to my clients tell me about their new aircraft etc. It's torture...
Can't believe it was page 3 before someone mentioned Iron eagles:
Also you can't go wrong with top gun, airplane, blackhawk down, and one of my guilty pleasure during the mid 90's, firebirds (with nicholas cage).

Mate it takes a while to get used to exactly when to flare. In the next 3 or 4 hours you will have more than enough practice, trust us on this. Meanwhile grats.

Hi All,
Just deciding on my vote for the first time in my life (usually devout liberal). I wanted to pose the question of airport closures to my local candidates and need a bit of help wording this correctly. Just have a few questions I wanted to ask:
Was it the federal goverment that originally held the leases then handed them over to the councils?
Were there any requirements placed on the leases by the government? (ie. did the federal government on handing over the leases require that they be maintained for x period of time)
Is there anything the federal government can do to stop the closures? (any ideas?)
Cheers,
Shags
I know. I've been saying the same things around here. My N97 is awesome compare to Iphone hardware wise.
I do agree the Iphone has an easier to use interface and nokia software (pc side) has a bit to be desired but the rest is excellent.
CraigRat: I agree completely. Development is a lot easier now though with QT. Makes cross platform development easier.
Also Nokia's have always been better for features. They have outfeatured every iphone for years (unsure about android as I haven't really looked into it).
The only issue with Nokia is they seem to release software before working out all the bugs. Ie. they released ovi music but it is so freaking hard to link your phone to it atm.
Thanks heaps guys. However I just bought a house (settles monday) that I couldn't turn down so my airborne plans are put on hold for the time being.
Great video's there. They will definitely come in handy for when I start.
