  4. So when you see ads for syndicates saying minimum 100hrs, do they mean in total flight time or as PIC?
  5. Good call foto. You can tell just from reports that people were saying engine was running while Mick Poole said it wasn't. Goes to show that even eyewitnesses seem to disagree.

  7. What drugs are you on? They are ugly as sin. They just look wrong... Also I'm not really sure of their stats but last time I watched one take off at archerfield it seemed to take almost the entire runway before it lifted off. But I guess it takes all sorts ;)
  8. Very strange circumstances. They say no engine failure and no radio call to brisbane tower. Guess we will have to wait for the investigation.

  10. Damn sun was behind everything so here is the best I can do. I've only just started really to do aircraft pics so don't be too harsh on me.
  11. Every now and then when I am on my own in the training area I refresh myself on it a bit. Usually err on the side of caution though and stay a bit over stall...
  12. Yeah same here. I went with AFTrack. Cost me a bit (about $14) but works a treat. It also records altitude etc. as well as giving you the ability to program (or turn a track) into a route for navigation.

  14. So just had 5 f-111's, 5 fa18's and a hawk fly right over my head. Pictures when I can work out how to get them off my camera here at work. How's your day going????
  15. OUt of interest do we know what sort of pilots the board is made up of? Are they majority fast LSA (what terms shoudl we use here)?
  16. Bidgee, 5 bucks says the people complaining about added expense are not the people wanting extra privileges. And that is so true about the mag. It is.
  17. Depends on what the stall speeds become. I had the same thought. They don't list stall speeds anywhere on the site
  18. I learnt in a tecnam at about the $170 mark (Which includes instructor). Solor ates are about $130.
  19. Sorry Escadrille, I have a tendancy to say it how I feel (rather than how it should be). Gets me into trouble all the time. Regardless of the intent of RAAus I do think that it will become more and more difficult for them to cater to all of the recreational hobbies. Perhaps a split is absolutely required. Really the commetn about hardening up relates to the constant whining about HF and EPIRBS etc. I don't think the extra cost etc. is all that much to ask when a changing environment is evident. Yes you may have been flying for 20 years and been safe but does that mean we make an exception just for you? Does it mean that the other guy who has been flying for 20 years is just as safe as you and just lucky? I understand my aspirations may influence my opinion but I did start in GA and moved to RA when I saw that it fit my requirements, and still does. But as you say this is all good discussion and if you are not happy about something you have to speak up otherwise noone will ever know.
