  1. That's what I thought Phildo. BTW, how does that work with airshows etc at Amberley. Do they just pass a one day allowance for this or not just enforce the rule? Interesting topic though. I should have finished my law degree.
  2. I disagree with some of the pricing some people have identified ($190+???) I paid $172 (or there abouts) for dual and $132 for solo. I just checked my first invoice I received from the school at archerfield i went to (and from memory they were all about the same price) and 1.2 hour flight cost me $310. That was 2 years ago. That was in the cherokee. The 172 was an extra $20 per hour. 1.2 hours at Caboolture with an instructor = ~$210 Not sure how you can compare the two.
  3. So with two weeks of no flying and counting (and it was two weeks before that since I have flown) just wondering if anyone else is having the same kind of withdrawals as I'm having. I wake up everyday and look at the sky hoping for blue, but it just won't come. Our dams are full, we can stop the rain for one weekend surely...
  4. Common sense plays no part in the purchase of items like mobile phones ;) But yes I will have a look first. I need a new phone anyway and it must be able to connect to my office outlook. I'll find something that fits what I need
  5. refuse to buy an apple product. Might get a htc android phone and see what apps are out there.
  6. Hi All, Not having some wang doozie mobile phone I need your opinions. What is it that I need to look for in a mobile phone to me able to record routes from a GPS. Ie. I have a GPS module so don't need a built in one (but don't care if it does) but I want to be able to record the waypoints of a route travelled and then download the data file. My question really is what do I need to look for in a mobile to be able to do this. Reason I say mobile is that PDA's etc are really not available. Also wouldn't hurt if it had route planning etc for driving on roads (as a side note). Hope that all makes sense. Cheers, Shags
  7. That's awesome guys. Good work on promoting the hobby.
  8. Yeah i noticed that after I had uploaded them all.
  9. That kid was pretty damn good. He was better than some of the ATC's around here.
  10. I don't know how anyoen can complain about the staff. They do a fantastic job.
  11. The one at woodford has a big black line round the outside of it on the map.
  12. Yeah. You don't fly straight over top of this one. Just near it. Never see anyone in the yards though.
  13. Hey Nev. Not even close to it. That photo is misleading. The prison is at the valley entrance to the pass to Kilcoy. You get a little close to it occasionally if another aircraft is coming the other direction but still well outside of the restricted area.
  14. http://www.recreationalflying.com/forum/members/shags_j-albums.html I've just uploaded a heap of pictures to my album here. I was wondering if it was illegal to take pics of prisons? Cheers, Shags
  15. Who has enough money to spend that much time training. If it takes them that long to do solo then what about EFL's etc.
  16. You got in the RA mag though didn't you slarti???? Think I will have to pull my finger out and do some shooting this month.
  17. From an IT background the possibility of interrelational systems between backend and a web front end is highly possible though I'm not sure of the cost faesability. I like the idea personally but like Crezzi it's not going to end my world if it's not there.
  18. Wells aid Maj. Ian and the board does a great job.
  19. You all have way too much time on your hands. But that is pretty cool...
