  1. Hi all, Not owning a GPS myself, does anyone know how easy it is to obtain data from an aircraft gps? Are you able to log the route of a flight and export it to a flash disk or something? Thanks, Shags
  2. No probs. Might see you at Cab sometime
  3. Toot Toot!!! All aboard the off-topic train. Prosky does trike training I believe. I have enjoyed my time there learning in the tecnam.
  4. who wouldn't want a hyperdrive. I would be concerned though that my lightsaber would put a hole in the airframe...
  5. Hi all, I'll have two please, one with my username, one without. Darky's initial quote "Flying gets you high" or whatever is fine. Thanks all, Shags
  6. Well done darky. You did better than I did (http://www.recreationalflying.com/forum/general-discussion/54754-interestin-incident-share-especially-those-without-much-experience.html) Something I've noticed is that when people are preparing to line up, they are not looking the direction that aircraft are coming from, ie they are pointing down the strip and can't see what's coming. I always stop looking at approaching aircraft, then when I hear that it's free and SEE that it's free I enter the runway. I guess the same rules apply in the air as the roads, don't trust anyone else.
  7. Just a quick note guys. The NH-90 is the naval version. We've already bought MRH 90's for the Army. Slight difference. The MRH-90 looks like a good chopper. I wouldn't complain if I get to fly one of them instead of a blackhawk.
  8. Stanza: Was going to be in Java but my netbook died so I am just doing it VB.
  9. I started writing it when Maj talked about how important logbooks are. I also wanted to be able to attache media to different flights (memories wise). The program will be database driven and I have access to crystal reports so there are plenty of options going forward. Keep in mind though that I haven't worked as a programmer for about 8 years. I'll let you all know how it turns out.
  10. HI All, This will not be used as an official logbook, and I won't even guarantee it for a backup. I am writing it to provide some details for my flights that I don't get in my logbook (ie I will have it link to media files etc. for each flight) and I have wanted for a while. Once released I will be happy to add any features anyone wants (time permitting) but it is really just a handy tool to use. It will do currency notices etc as well I hope. Anyways still being written so don't go holding your breaths or anything. Thanks again for the advice i will incorporate most of it I think. Cheers, Shags
  11. See half of that stuff I didn' even think of. Thanks Brett.
  12. Hi All, I am writing a small program that is basically a logbook program designed for RA Pilots. What sort of aircraft information do you all think would be relevant to keep. I mean what sort of level of information do you think would be useful? Cheers, J
  13. So very very jealous. And what is this 50% rebate????
  14. But according to section 290-170 of the sis act excess contributions will be.... Wait maybe a little too off topic
  15. I think they work out a touch cheaper for no real disadvantage though don't quote me on it. Haven't really compared the two.
  16. If i wasn't getting married in April I would be buying the lightwing advertised. Damn weddings costing too much money
  17. I watched a longez take off at archerfield once. I swear it used nearly the entire runway.
  18. Nice pics spin. I need to get a macro lens, the old zoom just doesn't quite cut it. ANd would love to find out if that IR thing is for real. Will have to look into it.
  19. Is that true re the IR? Never knew that. I love the mirage. I have an RC one. Think they are a nice looking ac.
  20. Love the shot of the engine. Great at explaining the dump and burn.
  21. great pics Maj. I think you missed your calling. My one poor effort at capturing one:
  22. Yeah hadj a great view from work here at east brisbane. Heard on ATC that they were inbound from amity and just as I got outside they came almost overhead. Couldn't actually see the dump and burn over southbank but still worth it nonetheless
  23. Price is good and they are reliable. Hate the centre control and after flying a tecnam never want to fly a jab again. They just seem to take forever to get in the sky.
