  1. There is also the Lethbridge Airfield, and quite a few members there will be flying into Avalon. The Airfield owner and the club are very accepting of visitors flying in.
  2. I wonder if it is worth looking at how the GFA (Gliding Federation Australia) has survived and is still strong since 1949?
  3. I would like to know if anybody at all is getting there rego's done? Mine certainly hasn't and they've had my cheque since early November
  4. With all this conjecture about this accident, I clearly believe that the SUV driver was totally at fault. He/She should have stopped, whether there was a sign or not, and made sure no aircraft were coming in, before proceeding. The fact that the aircraft was low was not the issue. As far as I was concerned it would have made the threshold. All remember back to your first solo. It wasn't easy and was probably not perfect.
  5. I did hear rumour about a mustering gyrocopter crash, BUT mind you only a RUMOUR
  6. Couple of reports say the pilot was 56, and others in his 70's?
  7. Andy has said exactly what has been on my mind since I heard of this (accident?) what is happening? Are people getting complacent, mindset of it won't be me, something lacking in training, to much confidence, I don't know. Some aviators seem to not take on board that mistakes in aviation usually lead to one end result and aviation is unforgiving of that. I for one enjoy flying immensley so I go to great lengths in my planning and flying so as to avoid as much as possible outcomes like what seems to have been happening in recent months. In finishing, I am asking everybody out there to take more care in your flying and planning, and also maintenance. Robert
  8. There is a company in Bannockburn and also a couple in geelong that use granulated soda to remove paint from delicate items. I am not sure of their Names but i am sure they would be in the phonebook. Hope this helps.

Are you sure that there is not a prop balance problem at certain rev ranges? I am glad to see that there appears to be no bad stories of the HKS. I think I may get one to replace my 582.

Has anyone out there, apart from Sadler Vampire, had any experience with the HKS 700E engine from Japan?

    70hp engine

I believe the HKS 700Turbo develops 80hp with the same capacity, and also has electronic fuel injection. Also I think about the same weight. Could be more expensive tho'
  12. My name is Robert Hi! I fly out of Lethbridge A/F in my Boorabee, and have so far travelled a fair amount of Eastern Australia in this little aircraft.
  13. What is this 700cc engine actually off
