  1. Perhaps yours would Turbo. Mine (to be) lives in the real world where men are men and take responsibility for their own actions rather than try to lay blame on others. Oh... and what bloody estate???!!! If you have an "Estate" maybe it is prudent to stick to the plastic fantastics and it's complications with all the BS that goes with it.
  2. Insurance??? WTF??? Who needs Insurance if it is only your own bum in the seat and your aircraft costs less than $20k and is flown away from built up areas? Sure this may not be applicable to the faster, fancier aircraft but what happened to the idea of a few mates hanging out, having fun and taking their own risks?
  3. OK... Worked it out. When you go to the Lightwing (and probably other) Social Group on the right you see "JOIN SOCIAL GROUP"... Click that and you are in. Totally worth a bloody look too... Sorry for the Bloody but this Aircraft is just so Bloody Australian. I love 'em.
  4. Hey Doug... Said I "don't have permission" to view the Social Page... Might be a problem with your permissions stopping people from viewing.
  5. Loving this thread... And love that Macro. Thanks for sharing guys. I salute you!
  6. Ironically EVERYTHING some members feared, and tried to warn about and fix before it got out of hand, has happened. The silence here is deafening. What a bloody mess!
  7. Alan Carr's book is certainly a good read... I didn't complete it ... yet... and haven't quit... yet. Isn't one of the ideas that we think a smoke calms our nerves... when in fact being a drug addict makes you constantly nervous. Getting a "hit" makes you feel as if you are calmer. Makes perfect sense having seen this with Heroine addicts... no different to Tobacco addicts.

  9. Thread was there a few minutes ago... Search Lightwing.
  10. So we have option B... "they" have made another hash of it.
  11. I did my initial training in a Jabiru170, soloed in a Fly Synthesis Texan550 (dream machine) and completed my training in an ICP SavanahS. We have many of the same aircraft in Oz that you do in Europe.
  12. My 6 or so hours of early training in the J170 would have had my sphincter up around my neck choking me if I was doing 55 knots on final... But... it was a tired old 170 and I was new to Recreational Aircraft. I would love to try a new J170.
  13. So... the logical conclusion is A. They have just made another complete hash of this... or B. The position is already filled and this is just following a process to make it all look rosy.
  14. I grok you Error404... Said date in Mag says 11th January.. My take was "The closing date for applications as detailed in the magazine are no longer relevant and do not now apply." Said date in Mag says 11th January.. Closing date on Seek is 18th January... Position closes on 18 January 2013. We will require a resume and 2 referees. " ...so IMO this is the current closing date as it stands... Better hurry if you are qualified!
  15. The closing date referred to from the magazine was the 11th of January... 3 days ago.
  16. According to the add on seek applications do close on the 18th of January... http://www.seek.com.au/Job/general-manager-recreational-aviation-australia/in/act-act/23800239 I would presume they already have a candidate in mind?
  17. Of course... if you pay the freight I guess... Check out the website (click on the blue name)... Kit is very reasonably priced.
  18. We need to stop this urgently and NOW. Any ideas on how to freeze the current executive from making any changes until this is sorted? Feb 9 will be too late.
  19. Great news for those looking for a simple machine... The Airbike is back. Produced by Jordan Lake Aero. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyKjOPCfbiY
  20. You gotta call '000' no mucking about. I have seen this before... a small fire... people milling around not wanting to bother '000'... turns into a large fire awfully quick. Sure... we do hear a lot of talk of not bothering Emergency Services but at the end of the day, this sort of thing is just what they are there for. Happy to hear the end result was OK for those involved in the end. Those blokes could still be hanging upside down in their seats.
  21. I think this is the BIG issue... Any attempt to fill the position in any permanent capacity IMO is pointless until these issues are sorted. Hence why the members meeting that was requested LAST YEAR and using all sorts of feeble (IMO) excuses to delay it until now has IMO put us in a potentially un-recoverable position unless drastic action is taken.
  22. Mum is visiting with us at the moment... She is reading Dad's copy of the memoirs of Hanna Reitsch... I am a bit nervous of even touching it. Such a precious family heirloom to us with Dad's distinctive signature inside the front cover.
  23. Don't be afraid to ask the Doctors and other staff to wash their hands when they enter the room Mark. Often they don't. Great to see you recovering.
  24. Is it legal to fly a SavS if it has been and is currently registered?
  25. Hi BP... just to get this right. The SavS rego was processed? Or not? If processed is the aircraft legal to fly? Please explain a little clearer if at all possible. The local school has a SavS.
