  3. You said it well Bill. I just ignore them. I do wonder why others don't do the same? But...not always a good idea of course. Then there are others who'll let themselves be led by the nose & jump through any hoop to be legal and safe (?)...and still dead. Had a guy comment abusively toward my illegal use of my Drifter....no registration, aerobatics etc. I replied all true but think of airline pilots who follow ALL the rules, make stupid decisions & manage to kill hundreds of innocents behind them! Air France 447 and the Swissair crash offshore Nova Scotia being foremost in stupidity and rule compliance.
  4. Not you guys too Ross! Really? A tail wheel endorsement? I just found out a year ago that a tail wheel endorsement is required in the U.S. I've been flying tailwheels since '73. Haven't got one & no plans get one. Bureaucrats must pass these crap rules around from country to country in letter form....stating: "Hey guys! Here's a great way to screw over your pilots! Make 'em pay for a bogus, bullshit tailwheel endorsement! Allow me to relate how I got my "tail wheel endorsement" 45 years ago. At 11 hours total time I drove with a pal who dropped me off at a tiny grass strip just north of Dallas, Texas. I took off in my "new" Champ of 65 hp. Not long after, I landed for fuel & ground looped the hell out of it. 350 miles down the road and 3 more ground loops later, I issued myself my very own tailwheel endorsement. Never groundlooped another taildragger. That includes a plug ugly Howard DGA with a modified 600 hp P&W, Beech 18s, DC-3s and a C-46. And I got my endorsement for free! Nothing to the pencil pushers!

Being a wild man from the U.S., I do have two pieces of advice for you. 1) Ignore all the rules & regulations of aviation! 2) Never listen to anything I say or do, especially on here or in my videos. Referenced to No. 1 above.
  6. We've got the same situation in the U.S. regards assisting any type of accident victims. We have attorneys who do nothing but chase ambulances & sue people at the drop of a hat while some take video simply to post it on YouTube. Just a sign of our sad times.
  7. The photo of yours was also crystal clear Frank. I used to have a FinePix too, but it finally just broke. Adding music is easy in a decent editing program. I have four but each one has its own positive & negative qualities. I wish my four could get together & form one great one. Impossible? Yes! What's maddening is an editing program that does NOT allow you to make changes to the front end of a 30 minute video without freezing the last however many minutes. In other words, if you do so, then all of that in back of the front end change has to be repositioned...i.e. text, music, video inserts, audio add-ons, anything.
  8. Thanks Blue & glad you didn't take offense at my music comment. GoPro 3. Fantastic. I use these cheap BuyPower cameras similar to a GoPro but your better quality was noticeable!

  11. I meant to reply earlier Birddoggie, just busy is all. Yes, if you're happy doing it the right way then by all means, more power to you. You're a good example to others. I shouldn't be running my mouth off here either. Bad example to younger pilots. I'll tone it down from now on. I've just been a cowboy all my life. Like some bucking Broncos....hard to tame. I don't really resent rules or authority. What I resent is some fat ass pencil pusher with little or no aircraft experience making up a bunch of rules to justify his position while sitting on his ass and/or an increase in his budget. I'm too old to be told what to do. I have a book out on Amazon titled "Over & Back" by Wild Bill Callahan. Don't buy it. Too damn expensive. Amazon will let you read about 35 pages for free.

  13. Frank, I understand where you're coming from but I have huge slicks on that Trike & have landed in much softer & wetter sand than that. What happened was that I was running out of daylight to do some video drone stuff on the beach & just gave it that one cursory blow by & not paying much attention when I did because I'd been there two days previously. I do feel however that I'm just not as sharp as I used to be either. Bottom line - Lesson Learned. Thanks for your input. I'll be 70 next April.
  14. Registered? What's that? Hell No! What for? To pay taxes to support some worthless lot that does nothing but have illegitimate babies to collect income from MY taxes! Hell No. Not me. I did register my pontoon boat about 6 years ago but only because I couldn't outrun our water police. We got police for everything under the sun here. Enough. I consider my two ultralights as exactly that. They WERE ultralight aircraft initially until what? Until, some bureaucratic good for nothing figured out we all had to get registered. I got my first ultralight in 1978, a Pterodactyl piece of crap but I loved flying it. Ultralights are REAL FLYING. Especially the Drifter. I spent a lifetime cooped up in REAL airplanes...what a joke! That isn't flying. You might as well be sitting in a car tooling down the byways! The Drifter, above the clouds, on a beautiful day.   15. HaHaHa! I think my problem maybe was my age....69. Too old to go to jail. Seriously, I was told by friends (after seeing the video) that the man is seriously deranged & could pull a gun at any moment! They were totally serious. When I was flying my drone at the same place the drone collided a few days ago, he was circling above me about 2,000 feet spying on me. Insanity still posseses him. This is over a year since that video was made! He was fired as the self-appointed County Airport Manager but still retains his local (Airport Subdivision housing area) title of Airport Manager. Everybody ignores him now as a laughing stock. He has not directly approached me since the video however. He knows he does not and never had the support of our local law enforcement nor our FAA Federal Aviation Administration who have yet to file any charges against me for flying two unregistered and illegal ultralights.
  16. BirdDog, times have indeed changed since the 50s & 60s back when you could slap or beat the hell out of somebody (or vice versa) and not worry about getting sued or thrown in jail. My video "Airport Manager Gone Wild" is indicative of our current B.S. times. Watch it if you dare. Not all is lost however as I violated this imbecile's tresspass order 8 or 10 times with no penalty. He was obviously provoking me to hit him so he could slap an assault charge on me. So I guess I was correct about signal loss causing the back steer. Luckily it reingaged & continued toward me. On my roll out I was on the side of those trees. It simply took a shortcut to me & collided with a tree. Thank you for your analysis! I'll keep you informed of any more drone problems but next time it will be HIGHER!

  18. BirdDog....if you've been in commercial drone building that long, you must've gotten started in its infancy. Never met anyone involved that long. Would love to pick your brain. Question: When I went around that copse of trees & started moving away from the drone.....did you notice the backward drone movement? It recovered as you saw & started moving forward toward me. What would cause that backward movement? Temporary loss of signal & searching? As far as rules? I'm 70. Don't care anymore. In fact, I didn't care too much when I was 30. Man, I can't believe what's happened to Aussie Land....kind of like I can't believe what's happened to the U.S......referring to our Democratic Party I mean. A bigger bunch of assinine fools there has never existed. Thanks very much fof your input!
  19. BirdDoggie....you have no idea how much I appreciate your words. Most people don't realize what goes into a simple video such as that...until they try to do it themselves. That actually took about 4 hours. All of my others take about 3 months working part time. I'll be improving on what you saw, adding much better footage, much better drone work, much better everything. It takes time, weather, fixing drone crashes, computer crashes and last but not least, the actual FINDING of where all the footage and photos are. My thanks too is directed to other videographers who take the time to do videos! Even the crummy ones are nice to look at! :) P.S. The Drone did survive. I should've included my walk in the woods to find it but it was very dark. Lost three props, camera was detached, banged up but, surprisingly...Worked!
  20. Be sure to watch the drone use in the first section. Interesting with disastrous results. 16 minutes, includes a Trike beach landing that....well, just watch. I plan to improve on this video in the next two weeks.
  21. A quickie done in 3 hours but I plan to improve on it in the next two weeks with more drone use. Stationary & autonomous. Drone scene is first. Trike and Drifter.
  22. My first attempt using my drone. Interesting results culminating in disaster...for the drone. This is a quikie video I did in 3 hours. I plan to improve on it a lot with more autonomous drone running free and stationary within the next two weeks. You'll see an interesting beach landing that results in....well, take a look. Thanks!
  23. If you're talking about the Balance Master manufactured in the U. S., I've got a big one just in front on the prop (pusher) and one up front at the flywheel. No help whatsoever. Bought one years ago, no help then either. So why did I buy two now? Good question but desperation is the best answer I can arrive at.
