We are currently trying to find Dad's aerobatic youtube clip if anyone knows who set it up for him. In particular we want the song which starts with: "He's a man of the air and he's got no hair..". Thanks 002_wave.gif.62d5c7a07e46b2ae47f4cd2e61a0c301.gif

Wow this is amazing and such awesome footage. Thank you for putting this together. We love it and our Dad would of been very chuffed that you had put this up on youTube. This is a first to see the cockpit footage while he is doing aerobatics. Thank you :-)

That footage will remain a testiment to Waynes' unique piloting abilities for sure. And the fact that it is is in a Fisher aircraft of his design, shows the skills he had in that area also. I know of only one other person capable of going anywhere close to that sort of flying, and that would be Phil Lockwood the designer of the original Maxair Hummer and Drifter range in the US. That footage is just so enjoyable to watch...and Wayne makes it look so easy............Maj...012_thumb_up.gif.cb3bc51429685855e5e23c55d661406e.gif 011_clap.gif.c796ec930025ef6b94efb6b089d30b16.gif

I've got the video on my laptop and the music is "Sure Feels Good" by Brian Cadd off The Morning of the Earth album. I can bring the laptop tomorrow and if someone can hook it up to a TV everyone can watch it. Hope this helps.

I just got home from attending Wayne's Memorial Service. It was a really moving event made so special by the very large attendance.

Unfortunately the weather didn't play fair at all, I drove down from the Gold Coast and on the way the rain was torrential at times and drizzling for most of the rest of it. Cloudbase was on the tops of the range, so it was clear that probably no-one would be able to fly in as intended. That was a great shame but hopefully some of those who planned to fly did drive instead. I'm told one intrepid pair did fly down from Qld.

Popular as Wayne was I don't think anyone expected quite as many to turn up as did do so. The Aero club was almost filled with seats but even so I'd say the standing outnumbered the seated by about 3 to 1 and a rough estimate put the numbers who attended at somewhere around 3-400 I should think.

A few folks got caught by the time difference due to NSW still being on daylight saving but most got there on time.

There was some great music by Wayne's friends and some very courageous and inspiring words by Wayne's daughters, it was heartrending to see and feel the pain of their loss, I am sure they will gain further strength from the great show of support displayed today.

A talk about Wayne's multitude of achievements was followed by numerous extra personal messages and anecdotes from some of those attending and Howard Hughes made a closing address in his inimitable style that triggered some hearty laughs and brought on the smiles.

Time for contemplation was accompanied by a well chosen set of projected stills illustrating the extraordinary life of Wayne Fisher, flyer, instructor, loving father, cyclist, bodybuilder, investigator, ladies man, all round good guy.

A beautifully filmed and edited video of Wayne performing aerobatics in his Drifter at Evans Head earlier this year brought the formal proceedings to a close and everyone was invited to share refreshments with the family.

Following that most people left, and a bit later between rain showers the family organised a freedom release of balloons for Wayne. It had been intended to have a formation flypast but the weather just wasn't up for it, and that was a matter of some disappointment for the family. However just as the balloons were ready and being held against the gusty conditions it was truly mystical to see a group of pelicans come winging in perfect formation and start circling over the top of the proceedings. As the balloons were released the pelicans eerily drifted from one formation to another, heading away to follow the course of the balloons in the missing man echelon. Wayne had his escorts after all.

HITC, thanks for that, there was one Drifter and My Fisher Mk 1 up and we had a great fly in perfect weather, in true Wayne style, we had a ball, went in search of a hot cuppa and someone to share a war story r two, went to a new strip and made a new friend. Glad the Fisher crew showed their true colours, respect and admiration for Wayne's family. We were there in spirit with you.

Wayne's influence spreads around the world -

On a number of occasions I have written about Wayne's exploits on other sites that are read globally. The news of his passing was somehow picked up in South Africa and a former 747 Capt. and forumite friend of mine from there sent me their Airman's Grace for the Memorial. Unfortunately I didn't download it until I got home but I post it here as it may give the family and friends some joy, as it did me.

Lord of thunderhead and sky

Who placed in man the will to fly

You taught his hand speed, skill and grace,

To soar beyond man's dwelling place

You shared with him the eagle's view,

The right to fly as eagles do,

The right to call the clouds his home,

And grateful through your heavens roam,

May we assembled here in your sight,

And all who love the thrill of flight,

Recall with two-fold gratitude

Your gifts of wings, fellowship and grace

Thanks for the reports there folks, weather and work scheduals made it impossible for me to attend, even though I was still working on going as late as Tuesday. My thoughts were with Wayne and his family Friday morning however. Great to hear that the event was well attended. I met Wayne several times and must say it was always my pleasure. I had the greatest respect for the man, both as a person whose company I greatly enjoyed, and as fellow pilot. Wayne was no doubt an inspirational original in this part of the world, and we were very lucky to have had his valuable imputs all those years.

Great to hear about the pelicans....birds know whats going on !..........................................................Maj...011_clap.gif.c796ec930025ef6b94efb6b089d30b16.gif 014_spot_on.gif.1f3bdf64e5eb969e67a583c9d350cd1f.gif
