It is also known as "MOTHERINLAW DAY', that is because it is the one day throughout the year that us good people visit our tolerant loving motherinlaw. Admin Posted June 20, 2014 Share Posted June 20, 2014 The shortest day of the year occurs between the 20th and the 22nd depending on what year...southern hemisphere is 20th or 21st and northern hemisphere is 21st or 22nd. The average of the 21st is used as the shortest day around the world in both hemisphers.
