HEON
Some time ago there was a Forum on expearances of some with the actions of Councils in lieing and stealing hangers with the (mis)use of leases. Could someone direct me to it please.

Kiwi
Not related to this question, but how about posting some photos of your new Fisher special. (I saw some photos of her at Wayne’s on Saturday) Kiwi.

Downunder
Interesting read, that post. I have a leased block on a council airport and am being charged full industrial rates. Over $1000 per year for a 20x15 patch of sand (no services connected). Having trouble with builders who think that a hangar is the same as a shed (which it basically is) but for some reason the price needs to be doubled. Any builders in WA interested? South of Perth. dunlopdangler
Downunder, try Ross Beatty at West Coast Sheds...you can get his details through the busselton aeroclub, if his company doesn't do hangars...he will know someone who can. as far as security of tenure is concerned, unless people can get together and buy airstrip land freehold, then there will always be the risk that councils (who aren't aviation savvy will always value leaseholds as per industrial....shame really because they don't see the advantage of the benefits of a healthy aviation community and what that brings to the town.. pylon500
You don't even have to be on a council airport to have problems. My private property backs onto an airport and my DA to build a hangar was approved, but not as a rural shed (like most of my neighbors') but as a commercial warehouse, complete with all the regulations that go with it Guess you shouldn't tell councils anything about what you might do in your shed. I'm still working on this problem so I can extend.. Arthur.
