facthunter Posted Thursday at 07:51 AM Posted Thursday at 07:51 AM Good ones have rubber boots to keep the grease where it should be. The whole calliper should float freely or it will drag and wear one pad more than the other. A loose wheel bearing will knock the Pads back and the pedal travel will be excessive on each initial application on the affected brake. Nev 1 1
Red Posted Thursday at 08:17 AM Posted Thursday at 08:17 AM Yea car and motorcycles usually have a boot toot to keep the lube in and dirt out. I use Copaslip antisieze on exposed pins of floating calipers as it seems to stay in place a bit better than plain grease 1 1

NOTE: I have NO experience with MCKay hoses. I have found that they offer an astonishing range, which may be of benefit to someone wishing to try them - end of story.😈 1

Good for you. So a lubricant actually designed for this purpose - not something someone found on the workshop shelf that they thought might just do the job.😈 Edited Thursday at 10:56 AM by skippydiesel 1
