I am not a writer but if someone on this site wants to write a story on how this site has been helping aviators for over 20 years for the mag then I would be very grateful

All sites are now on the new server

Although we have had a few issues Recreational Flying is now on the new server, hope you notice an improvement

I think this thread may have proven a point in that perhaps Recreational flying and Social Australia can coexist if done properly

Sorry about the sites outage yesterday but I made a mistake, I didn't purchase enough server control panel licenses, hey I am turning 66 in a couple of months so I am allowed to make mistakes, the old brain isn't what it use to be. Anyway the sites should start to be moved this evening AEDT(Thur 20th).

Just been notified the Op Sys has been installed on the new server, so the setup has just begun

Hi all, this site, and all sister sites will undergo some changes over the coming days as we remove the need of all US services. This includes our server in the US which will now be in Australia through a French provider which will actually end up a little bit cheaper as well. We are also looking at dropping all US produced software and minimising all US manufactured products sold in Clear Prop.

This is my way of putting my own tariffs on US products and services and supporting Ukraine. It's not much but if everyone just looked at what they buy from the US and US companies and reduced the money we give to the US then collectively it just may send a message. Besides just my US server costs were around $250 a month to the US, now they will be around $200 a month with some of that staying here in Australia and NONE of it going to the US.

Oh, also the server admin person is no longer someone in the US, but an even better guy that is in the UK. He will start setting up the new server tomorrow and will migrate the sites over.

Thanks for your understanding and your continued support of the sites over the 20 plus years we have been going, helping you to fly safer and learning from each others experiences.

I have been asked to delete this thread BUT the thread contains important discussion that could help ALL pilots so IT WILL NOT BE DELETED. Some posts have been removed and others edited so there is no finger pointing, no stating of anything as being factual to the cause of the accident. Factual information as to the cause of the accident will be released in due course after a formal investigation takes place

I and I am sure every single other pilot on this site is in grief for the pilot's family and friends but if we can not discuss things openly with consideration to the family and friends then accidents will keep happening and more pilots will die.

There are site rules in reference to discussing accidents HERE and as long as we follow them then this site is a learning resource FOR EVERY PILOT!!!

@Rapture you snuck this one through and ignored the site rules although the site rules say absolutely NO advertising/promotion of your own products in this site without prior approval. This is because of the high costs of running this resource for everyone so I get a bit upset if I am paying a lot of money out of my pocket each month whilst others make money for themselves from it. I think the decent thing to do is to make a donation towards the costs, don't you?

Hi all, I have commenced work on bringing some big changes to the site so NOW is your opportunity to have your say on what you would like to see happen with the site.

Planned changes are:

1. The Off Topic site Social Australia will merge with this site. There will be some off topic forums appear in the forum list and the What's New section will have

- Whats New ALL

- What's New (as it is now)

- What's New Off Topic

2. The Aircraft Type forums will become separate Groups in the Groups section of the site

3. The Clear Prop shop will become integrated on the site with you being registered and logged in to both the forums and the shop so the Clear Prop name will go

4. The site domain will change from Recreational Flying .com to Aircraft Pilots .com

@Ahmed is currently working on the shop integration and I am working on the rest.

What I do is:

Length 46.5" extended, 26" collapsed. Wt. 3.75 lbs. Able to attach to 5/8" lug nuts on nose strut.
