  16. Obviously my thoughts on the "First class member" designation is not the majority view. Given that position I feel there is a case for changing the designation from first class to subscriber. In any case I/we can only hope that enough support is forth coming to keep the site functioning, it is such a valuable resource, a tremendous community builder and a massive credit to Ian's dedication and hard work.

  18. Ian, I would be in favour of not displaying the "first class member" on the avatars, I am certain that most, if not all, first class members contribute because they think the site is worthy of their support and not in order to display a gold star. For me creating a hierarchy of members is not in the spirit that most users would subscribe to

  21. Ian, I believe that the site is worth a subscription at the same rate for everyone. I feel that Gold class etc will only complicate a simple equation ie site needs cash, users need to contribute. That is unless gold class can provide some substantial benefits to differentiate above normal rates. As an indication print magazines cost around $50-$100 for 12 issues from the discount outlets. best wishes Davidh
  22. Thank you Ian for all that you have put into this site I'm one of those willing to pick up again the "first class" button when the button comes back, or sign up for a subscription
