Dosed her up as we are heading central Qld, bindy country couple of places.....bugger.

I've used variants of this puncture control goo for many yrs ( gyro ) ....the other day I dosed up my jab160....yikes, at about 50kts hurtling down the runway, things get nasty, whole machine shakes etc. my guess.....wheels getting grossly out of balance at high speeds. Tomorrow's task.....replace all tubes, no goo. Hope this helps folks.

Chased up NGK.....the iridium equivalent to our usual plugs, is the dr9eix, my query to them .....what is the next cooler to the dr9eix......answer.....there isn't.

Doing a lot of xcountry stuff...long legs, it worries me starting with oil leval low on the dip stick, ( as appears to be preferred by some folks ) One time enroute, oil leval was only just showing, ( literally just wetting the tip ) since then I've run it 4...5 mm higher. I then get minimal blow back into the bottle, but retain a higher enroute leval. Question....just how low can we go ?? Some time back I saw a mod ....chap fitted a smallish blowback tank atop his engine, inside this was fine mesh, engine pushed oil vapour etc into this, vapour re liquified, then gravitied by another line back into engine. Said it worked great.

You've missed my point.....the guy indicated he WANTED to purchase the item at my reduced price.....I then asked for PO address to send it COD.......that's when he disappeared. There was no " stuffing around" the item was clearly priced " for sale " with $$ showing. Somewhere on another thread I " indicated " selling the item, at an approx price. Actual word was " ish " Re read the " PM's " his last comment is clear, he agreed to my reduced price..period. How you come to your view that a amicable conclusion was not achieved, bewilds me. He clearly committed to the purchase. ( I'm not p!ssed the sale floundered, it will sell at some time, the yes, no, yes, and comment he bought one cheaper than mine so he would now not purchase mine......that's fine.....then come back later and commit to now buying mine.....sorry....smells fishy, possible scam...too right )

European heavy rigs, have speed limiters incorporated into the cruise control . You select either function. If you select speed limit, you dial in your max speed not to exceed, and just drive as hard as you want, truck won't go over the set speed, even downhill, the engine brake etc will self engage .....ALL works great.

Received a call today, mate with a Camit engine received mail from Camit stating Camit engines are exempt from all this hoo haa. Grapevine tells me, more good news to come. ??

Luckily for all you blokes, the gyro Nats are again on.......wondai Qld, Easter. Avalon will also have a large gyro presentation.......( you guys get even luckier )

Reminder to all you folks, Easter 2015 is as usual the Australian gyro nationals, location Wondai Qld. ( near kingaroy ) fully catered, camping, motels etc, all there. ( camping at strip ) workshops on topics, many, many gyros, from home builds, to factory builds, from $10k to $110+ k! lots of the European factory imports will be there, classy for sure. One now certified for night IFR Europe . So.......make notes in your diaries, you won't regret it. BTW......the asra model of member control of their " data " etc ( self managed details to assn ) has now been taken up by other rec flying folks, I understand even big brother casa, applauds the system.

Seeing we are way off topic, how is this.....aren't Rotax engines limited to ?? Max hrs before TBO, and or ?? Yrs in service. Just asking.

I've owned this 160 just on a yr now, now clocked up 170ish hrs, absolutely love it, have learnt that it handles shyte conditions just great, ( was alarming early in the piece, as I come from gyro world ) however now all's good. Learning facts etc from you guys here has made " learning " enjoyable.......thanks. ( when allowable, a cert CAE is going straight in, then I'll be real happy )

Ok......after she's shut down, one could turn on the aux fuel pump ( elec ) and refill carby bowl......yes ??

Gave the ol girl a good shampoo today, ( covered in bugs n dust from the other day ) Fired her up, went for a 30 min blat, oil temps up as before ( 36 day ) arriving back at the hanger, this time I shut off fuel supply and waited......she shut down perfect, so this seems to be my procedure, here on.

Was a "planned" error.....wanted to see if you guys picked it up. So....parking up with empty fuel bowl is ok ??
