Upper cyl lube......another brand is Lucas. ( I think the Lucas is more popular tho ) .??? Recently told to use Castrol activ2, ...2 stroke oil. ( chap that told me should know, so I'm going to change over as soon as I exhaust my current stock ) About 100+ hrs ago, my pull throughs were "ordinary", so I had a topend rebuild done, properly done. ( read earlier post for details ) Anyway after 30....40hrs I noticed cyl variations, small, but apparent. Up till then I ran on nothing but avgas, ol mate told me to get onto upper cyl lube and run with that, within a fairly short time my pull throughs evened out, all were really good, so now I've accumulated 100+ hrs and everything is perfect. Must add.....I've recently changed fuel to a cocktail...40% avgas, 60% premium 95, Am considering going full on 98, am hearing good reports, I'll continue with the oil as well.

I've recently replaced my spark plugs with NGK iridiums, I now notice how quickly it fires up.......instantly. For some time now I now dose the fuel with Moreys, pull throughs all became even again quite quickly, infact comps are really good.

Thanks jaba.....just learnt they have 10 ply avail ( prob tho, can't fit em to a "C" .....legally, 2nd prob.....you have to remove your spats ) might just line my inners with a leather strip to give the tubes more protection. During chit chat learnt they're servicing a 2.2 thats now clocked 5000 hrs, one happy owner. ( might peeve the doomsday brigade ) actually the chit chat was " interesting " ....pity it's not publicly trumpeted. In the throws of prepping the 160, weez heading NT, then coastal northern WA, to cape levengue areas, down to Broome, then back east via that gun barrel track to Alice, then NQ. 5 weeks allocated, stoping off here n there. ( just another happy jab flyer )

Have been chasing tyres to suit my 160, ideally 8 or 10 ply. Unfortunately running into brick walls......so....anyone know of a source. Russ

Join the queue to get up close to the outstanding gyro display, ( most flew in ) I'm hearing it's really attracting folks, it's been a long slog over many yrs, to get to this generation, one maker now night IFR certified Europe. Well done to ASRA getting this organised for this event. Russ

Last yr, passing through thangool, ( think it was thangool ) local henchman, wanted to take my card to office to do ???......I said it ain't coming off my person, he huffed and puffed, all the while I climbed aboard, yelled clear prop, and moved off . Heard nothing from the powers that be. I was pressured by lack of daylight to our next destination if he delayed me for ?? . Only time I've had " attitude" from an enforcer. As to the escort thing.....I don't think they're obliged to meet you etc. (maybe I'm wrong) -

Yikes.......ozy supplier near on double the price delivered, compared to yank Co. ( exact same part, same P/N )... Both can deliver in 10 days. Guess where I'm going.

Why not pay costs, and get previous owner to fly it over, be a great trip. That alone would reinforce it's airworthiness. He'd know if it's up to it....if not...why not. My view.....any seller that's prepared to deliver to your front door, speaks volumes.
