    I've not looked at the forecasts on there, just the radar. Not sure what the actual delay is, just i'm aware that there is one, and also the fact that the BOM only displays 10min intervals

    again, not much i dont think mate, as it only refreshes every half an hour or so i think. Bas may be able to provide some more input here. Just be aware, that this weather is not strictly real time. I would not rely on it to avoid weather. There will be a delay, I'm not sure how long. Even the ADS-B weather that they get in the US is delayed by up to 10 mins I've read.

    It will use data russ, but I can't imagine it being more then a few hundred Kb per cycle.

    Yes. The b2 bomber used an inertial navigation system before the advent of GPS,to great effect.

    My edumacated 'pinion is that he didn't maintain airspeed.. For whatever reason....fuel, carbs or lack thereof, failure of the turbine hot section, after burner failed etc....I'm sure we will learn in due course. Just joking now, don't flame me. Glad everyone got out safe.

    Could be.. they seem to be simply copies nowadays... and making oddball sizes that still bolt up to a dynafocal mount. Like a o-409. http://www.eci.aero/pages/engine_all.aspx#EngineSpecs I do seem to remember reading about superior and lyc. having a licensing agreement in the eighties and a courtcase surrounding it... anywho... back on topic... sorry lol

    If IP is an issue, it will be for the other clone engines. Superior, Titan, ECI etc all make exact clones of lycomings. I'm not sure the legalities of it, but they have been doing it (successfully) for years.
