  1. hmmm.... i was right way up when i posted that on the ipad... I've been known to be a little lazy on the right rudder....
  2. I wonder if color makes a difference? The black one will absorb more radiated heat from the sun etc.
  3. I'm not familiar with EasyVFR. Does it offer australian charts and ERSA etc?
  4. allows remote monitoring of the sensors it is compatible with or the systems its compatible with (Arduino etc). Will let you remotely control and monitor basically anything in your house
  5. At Bowen aerodrome or a private strip maj? I might take the Sav for a blast
  6. It's a weapon. Look up taildrfun on YouTube.
  7. Yeah read awhile ago somewhere.. It's for an add and I think the FAA investigated or some such
  8. Very nice.. How long did it take you to build mate?
  9. Gday Ross and welcome. I'm sure many would be interested in an EFI system for a 912 :) I actually looked at using a SDS system a couple of years ago to put in a mitsubishi pajero with a 4G54 2.6l petrol, but never went ahead with it.
  10. Thanks techie49. Yep this has a 912UL in it, only 80hp, but i'll see how it performs. There are performance mods to do to a UL, so I'll cross that bridge if I need to. There was an AD in relation to the spar splice plates on the HD and HDS, but having removed and measured them today, they are ok, and do not need to be replace.
  11. couple of very nice rv's there. and a harmon or F1 rocket too... very nice! Do you know where it came from Ross?
  12. haha no offence taken mate its all good :)
  13. Yeah mate I will be. This is an original 601, pre -XL which had most of the problems. The HD and HDS had a couple of spar issues, but the spar is 11' wide, the only issue is if the bolt hole edge space is >10mm
  14. Does anyone know, or know of Dave Pawson from Victoria? I've purchased an aircraft that he originally built, and am after some information.
  15. 600kg Mtow on the placard? I didn't realise any saves where 600, let alone 19-. Mind you, I have no doubt that a Sav would sneer at 600 or more
  16. http://www.recreationalflying.com/members/ianwells.1933/ That's the owner
  17. Heathrow is near Proserpine mate, you will need to message the owner, he is on this board. It's a pretty undulating strip, and the cross strip is short, so carefully does it.
  18. Welcome Tim, I'm in mackay, there are a few of us around here :) Did you drop into heathrow maj?

  20. G'day and welcome mate, nice part of the world up there.
  21. Bloody bean counters... See the same thing all the time... "why do we need maintenance days on the longwall/miner? We need it to CUT COAL!!! oh what its broken down again? you should do more maintenance!"
  22. I've often wondered this aswell. I have a mechanical background, did 6 years as a Light vehicle mechanic, and I'm now a 'fitter' in an underground coal mine. The only reason i would want to do it, is so I can work on my own aircraft! :)
