  1. I'd suggest revisiting the tyre shop and measure their stem size and the normal wheel it goes into. Then you can compare your size. (eg if your stem is same as ones at tyre shop then your hole must be too smaller an id. You could then consider drilling or reaming your rim hole and dress the edges, so they are not sharp, so no mechanical damage occurs in service.
  2. Hi Gary very nice. Could you also post in a separate thread on the Skyranger forum as a review. Otherwise, it will be lost and hard to find on this thread. Cheers mate.
  3. They won't tolerate a dirty filter element, would need to keep very clean to maintain efficiency.
  4. Have you ever talked to an instructor named Bill at Bundaberg, if not he is worth a call, very experienced on trikes.
  5. The impact and change of direction bounce is not good. On the far away video looked like a very hard greaser but close up shows a hit and bounce. Our internal organs and spine don't like that sort of impact and they can rip away and crush. Hope pilot makes a 100% recovery and enjoys flying again.
  6. Did you see my earlier post; for about 170 you get 2 meters of hose, one 90 degree nose (needed to connect No. 3 cylinder tube) and a set of s/s clamps for all connections. Great value from Flylight UK.
  7. The plane is believed to have been a part of the Paul Bennett Aerobatics team that crashed during the first public day of the event.
  8. Sadly a Pitts has crashed at the Avalon air show today.
  9. Sounds like your in the circuit zone not over flying. What calls were made by you?
  10. Thanks I'll wait for a reply from RAAus, likely be busy with Avalon being soon. (Reply message says up to 10 days.) Weather too ordinary to fly and helping a mate with a reskin and replace new lexan in some areas on his Nynja so will wait for a reply. I'll reweigh just need someone to fit the blocks as I lift the wing and nose. Ony have to unpack the repacked the onboard gear.
  11. Weighing today came in at 312.6kg had 2 litres of fuel in collector tank and oil in engine. If I had checked that I would have drain it. I had taken the plane of its blocks so unable to re weigh, may do it again. Collector tank is on Stb side just behind main wheel. Have sent an email to Jarrod at RAAus to ask about w&b method of approval.
  12. Inox = No /don't. Maybe buy a suitable product from an aircraft maintenance shop down your way that maintains seaplanes or aircraft kept near the coast. If going to Avalon talk to say SAAA, or the Sea Plane group or aircraft maintenance people they will know the uses and benefits of products like ACF50, Corrosion X and other products. Let us know what you find out.
  13. Getting ready to weigh tomorrow. Just need all items and engine oil out. Nynja at it’s level orientation for weighing.
  14. Have a look at 'Corrosion X' under their aviation uses. ACF50 is another to checkout.
  15. Your not in the real world. Your next new neighbour could be nutters (like happen in Queensland when a helpful neighbour and police were shoot dead in an ambush situation) Police are sworn in, trained and armed and do their best. In the very very rare situation that an officer did the wrong thing they are investigated and they also wear body worn cameras that assist in investigations. I reckon they don't get enough of the grubs. Its a big decision to shoot and creates post incident trauma, I believe many would rather have not pulled the trigger; however they step up and do the task at hand. There are many grubs that attach and assault Ambos, paramedics, nurses and doctors that need sorting as well.
  16. Thankyou Brendanai👏
  17. I read into ians request is for someone to write a nice letter to the magazine editor saying how good this site is at promoting safe aviation and fostering aviation discussions. Could you edit this post and send into the editor of Sport Pilot.
  18. I give the editor double thumbs up; its produced on time, promotes aviation and provides content directed at members. I'll provide an article about my upgrade for the Nynja models and its also available for the Swift variants; when I have completed the full process as yet to do a w&b and fly, etc for consideration of inclusion some time.
  19. Finished the installation of the 600kg upgrade parts yesterday. Set the flap and aileron adjustments. Having a break today then do a recheck and ask a mate to do a double preflight check over. Then perform a new weight and balance. Next fill the tanks and take her up. Need the rain to back off for a short period; looks like the rain has set in for at least another week (it is our wet cyclone season this time of year).
  20. Got mine today; looks to have some good reads. Liked the Orion Cub article Empty weight is a bit more than J230 but useable for the 600 category; 760 will be better for it. Kit price listed is ok.
  21. Also get some thin elastic and wear it as a cap:) (Just a mate to mate comment. Cheers)
  22. I have seen this hose used for Rotax 912 oil lines. Owners said no issues and replaced with same again. An experienced Rotax and aircraft service person used it.
