  1. Difficult farming - droughts, floods and even when through all that - birds.
  2. The transition to RPL or PPL requires training and a Flight Review in that larger GA heavier aircraft, so it would follow that CSU or Retract would need to be completed in the same way in the larger heavier aircraft. There was quite a lot of differing opinions around the hangars that had me place the Thread. Once I received an email suggesting I call CASA I did.
  3. Resolved this today. For info - once transitioned to GA all endorsements are to be done in GA aircraft.
  4. Hi all I'm getting differing opinions on a question of a CSU endorsement. All of my Rec Aus endorsements have previously transitioned to GA. But I asked if I could do a CSU endorsement in a Rec Aus aircraft and have it transition. The Rec Aus aircraft is available:plane: I'm still current in Rec Aus and a full member. Put simply can a PPL, RPL holder do an endorsement in a Rec Aus aircraft and then fly in GA CSU equipped aircraft. I'm aware the BFR in GA covers Rec Aus but not the reverse. Cheers
  5. Welcome Denis May see you at Bendigo or Lethbridge soon. Bendigo is a great location to fly in and out of with a fantastic group of enthusiasts who will make you feel very welcome. Look forward to you flying into Lethbridge just down from you. Bernie (Geelong Sports Aviators Committee member and Bendigo club member)
  6. Santa left me this really heat image of VH ZVL My new toy...
  7. Merry Christmas all, I like many of you have just watched Grandchildren or kids open their Christmas presents this morning... It's amazing Grandma or Mum drags you out of bed as the kids are waiting to open their presents. "There waiting for you to get up" Then we jump on the Forum here as there's not much else to do as the Grandkids or kids tear through the house on their new scooter or battle with their new Star Wars swords... Fun isn't it? Now to see if I can sneak off to the airport. Not much chance of that - but a bit of peace and quite would be good. Seriously it's a great day to spend with family. Have a good day and get off the Forum before you get into trouble.. Mm over a hundred of us lurking here on the Forum trying to avoid being given a job to do or task as lunch is prepared.. Have a Merry Christmas and a fun filled safe New Year. Enjoy Bernie
  8. Philanthropic sites seem to accept submissions from groups that are very focused on youth, disadvantaged, education and training. You just need to see who they hand money out too to see this. I've always thought scholarships for young Aviators would be good to get into some philanthropic dollars into smaller clubs and airports. I don't think there's much chance of getting money for clubroom upgrades, bar extensions or club aircraft for general use.
  9. 'Buckley international' just south west of Geelong. Adds in Sport Pilot indicates car supplied and high quality bed and breakfast. It's a high quality home on grass airfield with a VW Bora car supplied for local travel.
  10. There are numerous philanthropic sites out there. It's just a matter of identifying them and placing a good case for their support. Most are very supportive of program's involving young people. Any site - including a Forum - should be able to put a case for youth, youth communication and steering program's to get young peope engaged. Mmmm
  11. Good to hear the pilot Graham was ok. It appears he used foliage and trees to slow down to avoid the freeway according to news reports. I know this Ryan and have seen it along with other Ryan projects at Tyabb in his hangar. Such a good example that was meticously restored.
  12. I think we have found the owner. Cheers Closed - thanks for SMS and email contact - got to love the Forum:pizza:
  13. Contacting Tecnam dealers now - thanks for the suggestion.
  14. Someone just sugggested that locals in ACT may recognize the airport from the hangars and photos in the background. Whilst it not urgent we contact the owner - it's possibly an old add and sold, it would be nice to know.
  15. Posted without permission.. Hi all, A couple ot the guys in the hangar here have been looking at buying a Tecnam Sierra and spotted an add on Aviation Advertiser . The add is for a Tecnam Sierra P2002 and is add number # 4434 on Aviation Advertiser. The photo above of the site. It's looks like a neat little plane. It appears to be hangared in the ACT. Does anyone know anything about this particular aircraft? The add was placed by George. Any thoughts would be appreciated back to us via email or mobile. Email - [email protected]. Mobile. 0408 564448 The reason I am posting this request here on the Forum is that our office has phoned the advertisers given mobile, sent emails and SMS and that has been no response. It could simply be sold or the owner maybe away. If anyone knows of the aircraft and if sold, it would be good to know as we can move onto another option. Thanks in anticipation. Bernie

The new fuel facility is now open with Mogas, Avgas and Jet A 1 available on credit card. See you soon. Don't forget to book in for the Christmas Party
  19. The Post on page 1. sums it up best - "if required to do BAK exams etc walk away". I particularly agree with this comment, as I also heard this time and time again from schools stating - "you need to do this exam and this exam" If your told you need to double up on the Bi Annual in Rec and GA walk away also. I've heard this advice given. The reputable flight schools will require review and under hood hours only. Depending on your ability to adapt you should be there around 6 hours - maybe less? One Bi Annual only covers both categories.
