I've experienced the RFDS landing on outback roads and the Police stop traffic. I did notice in some areas signs indicating that the road was an airstrip - earning motorists to look out . I've got this outback fly experience on my Bucket List. Maybe an idea to start a Thread to identify some of the outback service stations with strip. - OzRunways have a add on purchase for the unlisted strips..

Whoaa a lot happening out at Lethbridge. The Geelong Sports Aviators will have a large display this year at The Avalon Airshow. Look out for our display and marque. Drop in a day hi.

This year the Geelong Sports Aviators will have a bigger and better display of Rec Aus and GA aircraft. Based on the flight line their marque is a must visit for all enthusiasts. Early indicators are there will be around twenty five displayed aircraft. Members will also have their Iskra Jet on display - just waiting a few parts - and their AN2 Antonov. Make sure you drop in a say hello. Members will be on site to talk membership and everything aviation See you there

Yesterday - I flew part of the Great Ocean Road and watched thousands of cyclist riding the Cadel Evans bike ride. It was amazing to see the rainbow coloured clothing of cyclists. Like a rainbow winding along the coast. Four helicopter following the race kept me on my toes. :rotary::rotary: The Great Ocean Road is a must do. Base yourself at YLED Lethbridge that now has Mogas, Avgas and Jet A1 in large 40,000 litre tanks.

Hi all, The Geelong Sports Aviators will have a bigger presence at the Avalon Airshow this year. With over 20 members flying in for the event we will be set up on the main flight line with our tent/marque. Members will be present at our site throughout the event providing a good opportunity to meet a few of us, view our big variety of aircraft and to generally talk everything flying. The Geelong Sports Aviators have nearly 100 flying members with a variety of aircraft including; Alphi, Antonov An2 bi- plane, BRM, Cessna, Cirrus, Jabaru, Iskra Jet, Piper, Renegade, Tecnam, Vans RV, etc etc. a big variety of warbirds, GA and Recreational aircraft. Many of these aircraft will be on display... So make sure you drop in for a chat or enquire about club membership. Look for the navy blue and yellow T shirts and caps. See you there. Bernie

It's all about aircraft type size I was told. Yes my BAK, radio, ELP and XC all went over automatically to the RPL and PPL But tailwheel, CSU need to be done as part of the Flight Review for the RPL ,PPL or do it later in the GA aircraft that is a tailwheel with CSU. Whilst CSU and tailwheel skills and learning are the same it's the aircraft size that's the difference. It made sense when explained. I could have done the initial Flight Review in a GA tailwheel aircraft with a CSU and it would have been easier. No problem I just need to do the CSU in a 182 or similar.
