  1. Got a couple of shots of you on the runway. The pictures are to large to post but I'll email them to you. Catch you again soon.
  2. Here's a few pics from today's Monduran Fly-In. Well done to the Monduran club members. Plenty of flying machines to look at.
  3. The Courier and an Airbike dropped into "Owen's International" for a brew. Nice landing area near the house. One way because of powerlines, and a bit of a slope across the strip which takes a bit of getting used to!
  4. Hmmmm...........another case of wheel envy! We should have a new thread for "ridiculous" sized wheels.
  5. It was a nice morning yesterday so it was off to a mates property to have some fun in the courier. Might have to get myself some bigger tyres! This type of flying certainly puts a smile on your face.
  6. A sunny Sunday morning, so out with the Courier for a flight past Elliott Heads, Bagarra & Burnett Heads. Then off to Monduran for a cuppa with Bruce from Pacific Haven who fly's a great looking Texan.
  7. The Isis Flying Club is holding it's Quarterly fly-in breakfast on Sat 5th Nov. Details as follows: 7.30-1000am Cooked Breaky, tea&coffee, $10pp Runway 10/28, Grass, freq 126.7 All welcome, come over for an early breakfast then head over to Murgon for a "Safety Talk/presentation" For Catering Purposes contact [email protected] or Isis flying club Facebook page.
  8. Nice morning for a short flight from Childers to Burrum Heads, short run along the beach and then a visit to Pacific Haven airfield on the way home.
  9. Thanks for the comments Alan. We purchased the aircraft from the original builder at the start of the year. He did a great job with the aircraft. I'm going to get back into doing some instructing so I'll be on the hunt for a suitable factory built aircraft. The Courier was ideal to get some Tailwheel experience, I still enjoy every minute flying it.
  10. Hi All, Anyone interested in picking up an outstanding Rans Courier S-7S we have decided to put ours on the market. Details in the classified section, there are plenty of pics throughout this thread.
  11. Congratulations to the team that organised the airshow, it would have been a mammoth effort! What an array of flying machines to drool over.

    Drifter Heaven

Hi Kev, Great to hear the Yellow Hornet is serving you well. Those photo's look great. It is certainly the right climate for doing some Driftering. As I write this I'm at Bitter Springs a few hundred km's down the road from Darwin, we are doing the tourist thing for a few days, certainly a nice part of the world. Happy flying!
  13. Hi Mick, Good work, Julie and I are travelling up north for a few weeks, unfortunately I'll miss you on this one. I'll let them know your attending.
  14. Just a reminder, the Childers quarterly fly in Breaky is on this Sat morning, all welcome.
  15. How about a Rans S-7S Courier. A modern aircraft built in the tradition of a Cub. Doors closed or open, cruise at 85 knots or slow her down and land on a tennis court. Best of all the little wheel is in the correct spot
  16. Scooted out to Biggenden today. Nice morning, thick fog to the south of Biggenden.
  17. Hi All, The Isis Flying Club is holding its quarterly fly-in breakfast on Sat 6th Aug. Hot breakfast, tea&coffee, $10 pp, 0730-1000hrs, All welcome. Airfield - 10/28, Elev 130ft, Freq 126.7 Big weekend of flying, Come to Childers for Breakfast Sat and then head to Gympie for Gympie's Sun fly-in.
  18. Launched from Childers for a 40min run to "1770". Nice morning, the water around 1770 looked fantastic. Dropped into a mates recently completed strip to the SW of "1770".
  19. At the end of the day if the aircraft has been advertised by the seller at 544kg MTOW and if it turns out to be 450kg MTOW in line with UL certification then he should receive his deposit back. They are a nice aircraft but there usefulness at 450kg MTOW is extremely limited.
  20. Sat saw 4 Aircraft from the Isis Flying Club take to the skies for the short flight to Monduran (2 Jabs, 1 Lightwing, 1 Rans Courier). A club dinner around the campfire was also enjoyed by the members.
  21. What a cracker of a day for flying, clear and no bumps. Jumped in the Courier as a passenger with Simon flying and headed for Monduran. The Monduran aero club was holding its monthly meeting so there were plenty of people to meet and morning tea to be eaten. For anyone that is interested the Isis flying club will be flying into Monduran next Sat morning around 0830. If your after an excuse to go for a flight come and join us.
  22. Dragged the Courier out of the shed to give her a bath and somehow got distracted and went flying instead!
  23. Very interesting, thanks for posting the aircraft's history and pics.
  24. A couple of months back I flew over to have a look at Orchid Beach. Did a run down the strip at 10ft just to have a good look. It was freshly mown and looked in good condition. I would happily land, in fact I will be heading over there for a flight and lunch on the beach once it warms up. Photo below.
