  1. Hi All, Quick lap today, Childers-Maryborough-River Heads-Childers. Seamax now based at Maryborough. Stay tuned may be available for training shortly.
  2. Hi mate, I couldn't make it to Gayndah but a mate flew the Courier out to get some aerial photos for the Sport Pilot Mag (now I just need to get my keys back off him). I'm glad to hear there was a good turn up.
  3. That's a real mixed squadron you have, hardest part would be choosing which one to fly today! My baby at Maryborough. The builder of my Rans Courier has now finished his latest creation, a fantastic Carbon Cub. Here's a pic.
  4. We are going to need a secret handshake to be used by all forum members!
  5. That's the one, I was at Angelfield a month or two back. The builder who I bought her from has recently completed a Carbon Cub. He sure did a good job. I hope to get to the next Murgon fly-in, come over and say hi!
  6. Hi All, I was wandering around Old Station on the weekend when I developed a serious case of wheel envy, it's enough to make a bloke feel inadequate! Here I was thinking the wheels on my Courier were big, might be time for a monster wheel kit from the States.
  7. Nice mate, Certainly looks like she'd be a little pocket rocket, don't know much about them but I'll be looking them up on the Internet. Happy flying
  8. We were blessed with good weather and a great turnout. Thanks to all those that attended. Here's a few pics.
  9. Couple more pics. Tie downs Lightning Ridge On the way home. YLRD-YMOR-YKRY-YCDS
  10. Here's a few pics. Gas wells between Dalby& Moree Fuel stop Moree Lightning Ridge Chamber of the Black Hand
  11. Hi Mark, Tried to load a few when I got home late this afternoon, unfortunately a error"file to big" kept occurring. Will have a play with it over the next couple of days. Smack on 10hrs of flying there and back. Interesting place to visit, and everything is easy for those who fly-in. Visited the Chamber of the Black hand yesterday and did a tour before departing today. Good feed at the bowling club.
  12. Hi All, Just a reminder that the Isis flying club breaky is on this Sat 7th May. Weather looking pretty good, light winds, slight chance of a shower. All welcome.
  13. Hi All, Having never visited Lightning Ridge, and with a good forecast for the next few days it was into the Courier for an early morning departure from Childers. Topped up the tanks at Kingaroy, stopped at Moree for fuel and a brew, pointed the nose West and arrived at Lightning Ridge shortly after lunch. Staying at the Wallangulla Motel, staff very helpful, picked me up at the airfield and have arranged a couple of tours. Certainly a sight to behold when approaching the ridge, the landscape is like a giant ants nest. Overall a good fly-away destination. I'll add some pics tmw.
  14. Fantastic trip, great photo's. Your biggest challenge now will be "what's next".
  15. Hi All, Here's a few pictures from the Vintage Fly-in. Great turn up, some very interesting flying machines. Well done to the organisers.
  16. Another day, another strip, visited John, he has a small property North of Childers. Lovely smooth strip, made a bit short by powerlines at the threshold.
  17. The Isis flying Club is holding a fly in breaky on Sat 7th May. All welcome. Details: 0730-1000 Hot breakfast/tea&coffee $10 Runway 10/28 Elev 130ft Freq 126.7 For catering purposes RSVP Brett at [email protected] or on our Facebook page.
  18. Hi All, Another little test for the Courier yesterday. Dropped into Marks property West of Childers. Lovely spot, with a strip made for the likes of Marks Savanah, also perfectly suited to the Courier. Didn't realise dried cow patties could be so bumpy! Great way to end the day, the little Courier is still putting a smile on my face.
  19. That is a fine looking line up of Lightwings, a squadron you might say!
  20. Hi All, Well I'm starting to put the Courier to the test. One of our club members mentioned that his mate who flys an Airbike drops into the paddock adjacent to his farmhouse. I felt up for a challenge so into the Courier for a look. Short and bumpy, with powerlines at one end, a cross slope that was a little concerning at first, and it was one way in & out affair. Having said all that the Courier did it with ease. I can see why these little aircraft have a cult following. My smile was as big as the property owner in the bottom picture.
  21. I was looking for your aircraft. Oh well, you'll just have to go flying tomorrow!
  22. Hi mate, It didn't click that you had arrived, even though I was out taking photo's of arriving aircraft. I just checked my photo's, I have a few nice shots of a red Savannah in the hold off & touch down, but I think it might be your mates aircraft. PM me your email if you would like copies. Great day, certainly beats mowing the lawn!
  23. Perfect day for flying today so scooted over to Murgon for the fly in breaky. A good turn up, and a nice variety of flying machines. Here's a couple of pics.
  24. Windows and doors sound like such a hassle, invest in a Drifter
