  6. Attended the Australian Camp Oven Festival at the Millmerran Airfield / Showgrounds as advertised Australia wide and in the Trips and Events section here. What an outstanding event ! Met up with Mick Scott in his Drifter, just missed the Jabiru that flew in and everyone enjoyed the 95-10 Scale Spitfire flight late Saturday. Some 6,000 people attended Saturday with the organisers confirmed the same numbers for the Sunday with over 700 caravans were present. As you would expect the food and selection was excellent, as was the wide and varied entertainment the entire time. The show ground facilities were great as we're the airfield and terminal hut, right across the fence. Took the organiser up for a photo shoot on the Sunday who confirmed their interest and support to have a flyin for Aviation / Ultralight Aircraft, possibly in conjunction with the Millmerran Show early in March 2015 Top venue and great support for a future Flyin.
  7. Gympie Open Fly Day, was well attended and catered for by the Gympie Aero Club, locals, car and bike enthusiast alike enjoyed taking to the air over Gympie and showing off their machines to us all. A Great Day, photos says it all.

  23. The Callide Dawson Flying Group certainly did themselves proud by the professional manner in which they organised and ran their first Flyin in their new home at Thangool. Counted some 70 plus aircraft, over 50 Caravans and I was told that over 1000 people went through the gates on the Saturday alone. The Mayor of the Banana Shire officially opened the proceedings and reinforced his support for the Callide Dawson Flying Group at Thangool. The photos don't do justice to the event, but it will give you an idea of what massive work and support Liz ( the secretary's secretary) and her army of club members who made this weekend a great success. Thank you.
  24. Yes, the facilities that the Callide Dawson Flying Group have here including a massive bitumen and grass strips all professionally maintained is a true asset to any flying club. Saturday morning 6.30 am weather blue skies with some scattered High cirrus cloud, No Wind.
