    Hi, I am looking at building a 650 and have a rebuilt corvair to hang off the front. How do you find the ground handling with the tailwheel? Looks a lot nicer than the tri gear version. Thanks.

    It's a fly in near Geraldton around April. Warbirds and military stuff including bands etc. It's apparently a pretty good turnout. RE.

    The hard sand is normally all shiney and wet.

    While you are on your way to 80 mile make sure you drop in to Thevenard Island off the coast of Onslow. It's another one of my favourite spots. About a 100 metre walk from the strip to the beach. There is also accomodation available. Then there is Coral Bay, another fantastic location.

    Another day, another jabiru engine failure. A mate contacted me to tell me that his Jabiru engine failed while flying. A piston left the engine then it seized. Lucky to land unscathed in a freshly ploughed field somewhere north of Perth.

    Go to 80 mile beach between Port Hedland and Broome. There is plenty of room and the beach is flat and wide.

    If you haven't found a new canopy yet call Lindsay Daines at Aviation Composites, Cockburn Central. He has the RV4 form work. Bought one off him for my Sonerai. Where do you keep your RV? I was at Manjimup not that long ago.

    Welcome aboard Kdub. Good to have another local pilot on the site. Have you tried RACWA at YMUL? Cheaper flying with no waiting for clearances etc. They have just purchased a brand new Sling 2 which should be there in November. My Yak is based there also. They do not charge landing fees for club aircraft either I believe. Cheers, Ant.
